PURPOSE: To provide a lightweight steering wheel by forming a spoke of reinforced resin between a ring part core and a center member arranged in the middle thereof.
CONSTITUTION: A steering wheel core 10 is composed of a center member 11, ring part core 12, and spoke 13. This spoke 13 is arranged between a recess 12a formed at the ring part core 12 and the cylinder 11c of the center member 11 and made of resinforced resin to fasten the recess 12a and the cylinder 11c together in a single piece. The spoke 13 is made by attaching a binder resin such as polyester to non-natural fiber such as glass fiber and winding it round the recess 12a and center member 11, followed alternate coupling of the two, stretching and hardening.
