Abstract

PURPOSE:To inexpensively sterilize packed foods such as lunch or seasoned foods preservable for a long period without lowering a taste, by processing a food, thermally sterilizing and returning to normal temperature in a short time. CONSTITUTION:A seasoned food is packed into a container 1, completely sealed depending upon content thereof, etc., or an opening part is sealed in a state wherein an air-permeable part 4 is partially left and the food is thermally sterilized. The food is repeatedly sprayed with cooling water in a showered state and dried under reduced pressure so that the food is returned to normal temperature. Then the material in the air-permeable part 4 is sealed and these operations are carried out in a clean room to effect the aimed sterilizing treatment.
