Abstract

PURPOSE:To enhance color forming sensitivity and to obtain the excellent stability of a color forming part and a color non-forming part, by incorporating specific oxalic ester in a thermal recording sheet forming a color by a color forming lactone compound and an acidic substance under heating as a sensitizer. CONSTITUTION:A thermal recording sheet forming a color by a color forming lactone compound and an acidic substance under heating contains oxalic ester represented by formula (I) [wherein R<1> and R<2> may be respectively same or different and a 1-20C alkyl group, a cycloalkyl group, an aryl group, -CnH2n-Ar (wherein n is an integer of 1-8 and Ar is an aryl group and same hereinbelow) or -CnH2n-CO-Ar] as a sensitizer. This thermal recording sheet has extremely high color forming sensitivity and is also excellent in the stability of a color forming part and a color non-forming part. As the sensitizer, oxalic ester represented by formulae (3), (4), (5) is especially pref.
