Abstract
PURPOSE:To equalize the distribution of air-fuel mixture among respective cylinders in a compact construction by independently forming connecting lines which allow flow of air-fuel mixture among respective cylinders in a plurality of intermediate housings, in a three-cylinder rotary piston engine. CONSTITUTION:In an engine, in which three cylinders 5-7 are formed in a casing 1, the first connecting line 21 which connects the operating chamber 12 of the first cylinder 5 during its intake stroke to only the operating chamber 12 of the second cylinder 6 during its compression stroke and the second connecting line 22 which connects the operating chamber 12 of the first cylinder 5 during its compression stroke with only the operating chamber 12 of the second cylinder 6 during its intake stroke are provided in the first intermediate housing 3A. And, the third connecting line 23 which connects the operating chamber 12 of the second cylinder 6 during its intake stroke to only the operating chamber 12 of the third cylinder 7 during its compression stroke and the fourth connecting line 24 which connects the operating chamber 12 of the second cylinder 6 during its compression stroke to only the operating chamber 12 of the third cylinder 7 during its intake stroke are provided in the second intermediate housing 3B.
