Abstract
PURPOSE:To uniformize each length of branched suction passages at the downstream of each volumetric part by setting up these volumetric part in each specified position, in case of the engine that installed each of plural common volumetric parts in each pair of plural cylinders where suction strokes are unadjoined with each other. CONSTITUTION:In an engine, for example, a 4-cylindered engine GE, a common suction passage 11 to be interconnected to each of cylinders A-D is branched off (12) to a first suction passage 14 to be interconnected to a first volumetric part 13 and a second suction passage 16 to be interconnected to a second volumetric part 15. And, these volumetric parts 13 and 15 are formed inside a surge tank as being partitioned off by a partition wall 20. In this constitution, the first volumetric part 13 is set up so as to cause respective center lines l1 and l3 of the first volumetric part 13 and the engine GE in a vertical sense to the cylinder banking direction each to be accorded with each other as to a position in the cylinder banking direction. And, the second volumetric part 15 is set up in series to the cylinder banking direction at the front side or the rear side of the first volumetric part 13.
