Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain excellent oil resistance, water resistance and heat resistance by adding cyanurate bridging auxiliary and vinyl silane-processed baked clay to the specific ethylene propylene rubber and forming and bridging an insulator and a sheath. CONSTITUTION:A composition material containing cyanurate bridging auxiliary 2-10pts.wt. and vinyl silane-processed baked clay 50-150pts.wt. against ethylene propylene rubber 100pts.wt. with the iodine value of 20 or less is used to form an insulator and a sheath, and the insulator and the sheath are bridged to produce an electric wire/cable. An electric wire/cable with excellent oil resis tance, water resistance, electric characteristics, and heat resistance can be thereby obtained. If the iodine value of ethylene propylene rubber exceeds 20, the heat resistance is reduced. If the addition of cyanurate bridging auxiliary is less than the above value, sufficient bridging is not obtained. If it exceeds the value, the workability is reduced. If the addition of baked clay is less than the above value, the oil resistance is reduced. If it exceeds the value, the mechan ical characteristics and workability are reduced.
