Abstract

PURPOSE:To omit a connecting capacitor between a magneto-resistance effect type (MR) head and a circuit by differentially amplifying a signal component not to be fed back as a voltage change. CONSTITUTION:When the resistance values of MR head elements MR1, MR2 are increased by the abrasion, etc., of the MR head, the bias voltage of the MR head 1 is unbalanced from the reference bias of the MR head 1. At that time, a feedback circuit detects and amplifies an error signal so as to reduce current supply to a sense current source circuit 2, so that the MR head 1 is held at a proper bias state. Namely, when the MR head 1 is abrased and the resistance values are increased, constant voltage driving for reducing sense current is executed reversely proportional to said increment in a DC system. On the other hand, the signal component not to be fed back is amplified by the initial differential amplifier 6. Consequently, the connecting capacitor can be removed and the LSI formation of an MR head driving circuit can be easily attained.
