Abstract

PURPOSE: To start an engine smoothly by incorporating a delay means delivering a valve close signal to a flow control valve for a predetermined time after an overload detection signal is released thereby avoiding overload. CONSTITUTION: When an engine 1 is overloaded, the lever 12c of an actuator 12b is tilted in full-open direction. Movable contact 15a of a limit switch 15 is depressed and an L signal is delivered to the input terminal of an AND circuit 13b. A flow control valve 4 closes a refrigerant line 7 to limit refrigerant flow being sucked into a compressor 2 thus lessening the load on the engine 1. Consequently, r.p.m. of the engine 1 is increased and rotation of the lever 12c in full-open direction is released and the limit switch 15 is turned on. An H signal is inputted to a timer 13a which is thereby actuated to deliver an L signal to the input terminal (a) of the AND circuit 13b. Consequently, the refrigerant line 7 is choked for a predetermined time by the valve 4 even after overload is avoided and the engine output is raised stepwise.
