Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a detection sensor which reduces the possibility of malfunction due to an external noise and detects an opening/closing state by measuring variation in the transmission loss of light transmitted through one of a couple of optical fibers to the other. CONSTITUTION:The light which is transmitted from another optical fiber through an optical connector 7 enters an optical fiber 3 in an upper opposite member 1 passes through a lens 5, and is reflected by a reflecting mirror 9 to enter an optical fiber 4 through the gap between the member 1 and a lower opposite member 2 and a lens 6, and the light is transmitted to another optical fiber from the other end through an optical connector 8. Here, when no force operates from an object of detection, the gap between the members 1 and 2 are expanded by coil springs 10 and 11, but when force operates from the object of detection, a projection part 2b is fitted in a recessed part 1a and the members 1 and 2 come into close contact, so that the transmitted light has optical transmission loss according to the width of the gap between the members 1 and 2. For the purpose, variation in the optical transmission loss is measured to decide whether the object of detection is open or closed.
