Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent the effect of an adjacent track even if a head deviates relatively at the time of reproduction by recording a signal as bending it in a chevron shape at nearly the middle of the track. CONSTITUTION:The upper half and the lower half of the head gap of the magnetic head is made to have an azimuth angle theta. Accordingly, a pattern, recorded by such the head, comes to be the chevron shape, bent at nearly the middle of it, and the same locus of the head is obtained for the respective tracks. Accordingly, when the track No.3 is reproduced by the head B, a sufficient reproduced output is obtained, because the track is reproduced by the same chevron-shaped head as at the time of recording. The number of the heads is made to be 1/2 of the number of the tracks, and when the even number tracks 2, 4... are reproduced by displacing the heads A, B... to A', B'... in parallel, the head gap 12 for the time of the recording coincides with that for the time of the reproduction in this case as well. On the other hand, even when the track No.1 is reproduced by the head A, and the head deviates by delta and comes to A'', the signal of the track No.2 is not reproduced because of the difference theta between inclinations at the time of the recording and the time of the reproduction.
