Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the durability of an electromagnetic clutch by decreasing the opening of a throttle valve and decreasing the control current when the control current becomes maximum in the electromagnetic clutch controlling the rotating speed difference between front and rear propeller shafts. CONSTITUTION:Front and rear propeller shafts 5A, 5B connected to front and rear differentials 6, 7 respectively are connected to a center differential 8 respectively. An electromagnetic multi-disk clutch 12 is inserted between the center differential 8 and the rear propeller shaft 5B in this case. The electromagnetic multi-disk clutch 12 is driven and controlled by a control means 15 via an actuator 13 based on the output of a wheel state detecting means 14. A throttle valve is controlled to decrease its opening when the control current of the electromagnetic multi-disk clutch 12 becomes the maximum current and a fixed time elapses.
