Abstract
PURPOSE:To separate and sample a useful substance at a high efficiency without damage, by providing an isolation chamber between an electrode chamber to hold a positive or negative electrode at both right and left ends thereof and a separation chamber provided to separate a charge chamber at the center thereof. CONSTITUTION:A liquid 31 to be treated is supplied into a separation chamber 1 at a liquid inlet 21 and made to rise through the separation chamber 1 to be divided to the left and right at the upper end of the separation chamber 1. Then, the liquid being treated lowers through right and left chambers to be withdrawn through liquid outlets 22 and 22'. An electrode liquid 34 flows through an electrode 3 while an isolation liquid 33 does through an isolation chamber 2. Both the electrode liquid 34 and the isolation liquid 33 contain an electrolyte such as sodium acetate salt to be electrically conductive. In this situation, when a power is conducted, substance positively charged in the liquid being treated moves to the negative pole side while that negatively charged does to the positive pole side and the substances positively and negatively charged are contained separately in right and left downward flows within the separation chamber thereby enabling decomposition of the charged substance with the withdrawal of the liquid.
