Abstract
PURPOSE:To properly control the lock-up mechanism opening timing in deceleration accompanying with fuel cut by correcting a set number of revolution for connecting the lock-up mechanism of a torque converter according to the detected deceleration speed. CONSTITUTION:If the number of revolution of an engine B equipped with an automatic transmission E lowers below a set number of revolution during the deceleration operation in which fuel cut by a fuel cut means A is executed, a lock-up control means F releases the connection of the lock-up mechanism D of a torque converter C. The set number of revolution is corrected by a correcting means H according to the deceleration speed of the number of the engine revolution detected by a deceleration speed detecting means G. Therefore, by keeping the lock-up mechanism D in the connection state during the deceleration in the fuel feed stop, the lowering of the number of revolution of the engine is delayed, and generation of engine stall is prevented on the sharp or slow deceleration, and the fuel feed stop time can be prolonged to the max., and fuel consumption can be improved.
