Abstract
PURPOSE:To avoid the generation of the deterioration in the image quality because of the overflow of ink for a recording material having poor absorbability of the ink, by providing fan means and heating means adjacent to a recording heat at least at one side in a main scanning direction of the recording head mounted on a carriage. CONSTITUTION:At either front or rear side of a main scanning direction of printing of a recording head 7 which is mounted on a carriage 6, there are provided fan means 14a and 14b and heating means 17a and 17b all adjacent to the recording head 7 so as to facilitate the evaporation of ink drops printed on a material 1 to be recorded. As a result of this, ink can be fixed onto the surface of the material 1 in a reduced fixing time since the ink drops are forcibly evaporated by the fan means 14a and 14b and the heating means 17a and 17b whether the ink is absorbed by the material 1 on the ink is statically evaporated from the surface of the material 1. It is to be noted here that an angle thetadefined by the central axis in the forwarding direction of the wind by the fan means and the surface of the material 1 establishes 0 deg.<theta<90 deg..
