Abstract

PURPOSE:To treat coal ash of a large quantity, by adding a given volume of water or hot water into collected ash with ammonium salt, kneading the same into grains of given grain diameter and then treating the same under the normal pressure water vapor flow, prescribed temperature and relative humidity. CONSTITUTION:Exhaust gas generated out of a coal-fired boiler is treated by means of a denitration device of ammonia contact reduction type. Then, water of 10-50pts.wt. or hot water of 60-98 deg.C to ash of 100pts.wt. is added to the ash with ammonium salt, dust-collected, and trapped, and the mixture is kneaded into grains of 0.5-50mm particle diameter and pH 9 or more. Then, ammonia is stripped by treating said grains under the normal pressure water vapor flow of 100% relative humidity at 60-100 deg.C. Also an alkali substance such as lime, magnesia, etc., having mol. equivalent or more than adhered ammonia salt can be added to the ash with ammonium salt.
