Abstract
PURPOSE:To exchange high speed information while maintaining a low call loss ratio even at low exchange connecting speed by providing a first converting means for wavelength converting input serial information to parallel information, a switch network and a second converting means. CONSTITUTION:The time series information (serial information) using plural time slots on a time division multiplex highway is initially wavelength-converted at a wavelength determined at every time slot by the first converting means 201. Then, it is developed in parallel to the plural highways determined corresponding to the wavelength and transmitted to the switching plex 202 in parallel. In th plex 202, a switching is executed so as to take out the information in parallel from the same number of the highways as the highways at the time of inputting in an output side. The respective parallel developed information after the exchange by the plex 202 is wavelength-converted to one wavelength by a second converting means 203 and converted to the time series information of the successive time slots on the output highway corresponding to the wavelength. Thereby, even at the low exchange connecting speed, the high speed information can be exchanged while maintaining the low call loss ratio.
