Abstract

PURPOSE:To easily produce a microporous film having uniform pore diameter, easily controllable thickness and shape of the film and durable even to heat- treatment, etc. by the solvent-treatment of a conjugated polymer compound containing a colloid composed of a substance soluble in the solvent. CONSTITUTION:A monomer of a conjugated polymer compound (e.g. polypyrrole or polythiophene) is subjected to electrochemical oxidative polymerization in a solution containing a negatively charged colloid having particle diameter of 0.01-100mum (a polymer latex or an inorganic compound, preferably a polymer latex) or said monomer is subjected to electrochemical oxidative polymerization using an electrode coated with said colloid. A colloid-containing conjugated polymer compound produced by the above process is treated with a solvent of the colloid (e.g. dioxane or toluene) to produce a microporous film having a pore diameter of 0.01-100mum. The pore diameter can be controlled by selecting the particle diameter of the colloid and the film thickness can be controlled by the polymerization time, etc.
