Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a switching device of a simple structure and a compact size by providing a switch element using a superconductor and a permanent magnet. CONSTITUTION:The distance between a switch element 1 and a permanent magnet 2 is kept at a specific distance depending on the Meissner effect. In such a condition, the switching part of the switch element 1 is in the opened condition making the switch element 1 off. In order to turn the switch on, the permanent magnet 2 is moved in the X direction, thereby the intensity of the magnetic field is changed to move the switch element 1 in the X direction, and the open end of the switching part is linked to make the on condition. Since the switch can be turned on and off by the movement of the permanent magnet, the structure is simplified and the size is made compact.
