If sediment gets mixed into the water that enters the pump water absorption tank, not all of it is removed by the pump, and some of the sediment accumulates at the bottom of the water absorption tank. Over time, the accumulated sediment accumulates, and in extreme cases, There is a risk that the pump suction port may become buried in the earth and sand. Conventionally, in order to prevent this, a method has been adopted in which a settling basin is provided upstream of the pump water suction tank, sediment is deposited here, and only water is guided to the water suction tank. However, this settling basin needs to have a very low flow velocity in order to allow the sediment mixed in the flowing water to settle naturally, and the settling basin requires a large volume. Therefore, conventionally, installing a settling basin in front of a pump water intake tank required a large area of land and a large amount of civil engineering costs.

If the sand settling basin could be omitted, the cost of pump equipment could be significantly reduced, but as mentioned above, it is necessary to solve the technical problem of preventing sediment accumulation in the pump water suction tank.

In view of these circumstances, the present invention has been developed to prevent sediment-containing water from flowing into the water absorption tank, without accumulating it in the tank, causing no harmful eddies, and reducing the head loss of the flowing water within the tank. The aim is to provide pump equipment that can be kept small.

A feature of the present invention is that by temporarily partitioning the cross-sectional area of the water flow section from the upper part of the inlet of the water absorption tank or the water introduction part to the pump in the tank, the water is concentrated at the bottom of the water absorption tank where sediment tends to accumulate. The purpose is to provide a high-speed jet water flow to prevent or remove sediment accumulation.

Next, an embodiment of the present invention shown in FIGS. 1 and 2 will be described. A pump 1 discharges water from a water absorption tank and is driven by an electric motor 2. Water in the water suction tank 4 is sucked into the pump 1 through the suction pipe 3. A flowing water guide plate 5 is installed at the inlet of the water absorption tank 4 so as to be movable up and down through a guide groove 7 by means of a rod 6.

Always keep the water guide plate raised above the water surface of the water absorption tank. In this case, the water guide plate 5 does not affect the flow in the water suction tank 4, and a uniform flow at a low velocity flows in the water suction tank 4 toward the suction pipe 3. Therefore, the head loss of the flow is small and it is safe against the occurrence of eddies. However, if the flow flowing into the water absorption tank 4 contains earth and sand, this earth and sand settles into the water absorption tank 4. When the earth and sand accumulate, the water guide plate 5 is lowered to the position 5'. Then, the flowing water guide plate 5 partitions the flow in the water absorption tank 4 from the upper part, so that a high velocity jet flow is generated at the lower part of the flowing water guide plate 5, that is, near the bottom surface of the water absorption tank 4. Then, the sediment accumulated by this jet flow is removed from the suction pipe 3.
Furthermore, it flows into pump 1. After the earth and sand have been washed away, the water guide plate 5 is raised again above the water surface. By performing such operations from time to time, it is possible to constantly prevent or remove sediment from accumulating in the water absorption tank 4. Note that when the flowing water guide plate 5 is lowered as indicated by 5', the head loss of the flowing water in the water absorption tank 4 temporarily increases, but this only takes a small amount of time compared to the entire operating time, so the overall energy consumption is reduced. The loss will be small. Furthermore, even when the flow rate is lowered to 5', the high flow rate is limited to the vicinity of the bottom of the water absorption tank 4, and the water level remains high, so there is no risk of eddy formation.

FIG. 3 shows another embodiment in which the fluid guide plate 8 is connected to a hinge 9.
It is rotatably attached around the rod 1.
With 0, it can be operated up and down from above. Therefore, by lowering the rod 10 and lowering the flow guide plate 8 to 8', a high-speed jet flow can be obtained at the bottom of the water absorption tank as in FIG. 2. In addition,
The flowing water guide plate shown in FIGS. 1 to 3 may be installed at the entrance of the water absorption tank or at a place inside where earth and sand are likely to accumulate.

Since the present invention is configured as described above, even if a water flow containing sediment flows into the water absorption tank 4, the sediment will not flow into the water absorption tank 4.
It is of great practical value because it can prevent the water from accumulating on the bottom surface, there is no fear of eddies occurring in the water absorption tank 4, and the water head loss caused by running water is small.
