Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide an ink jet recording method which gives a printed matter with excellent fastness, particularly, excellent water resistance, by adhering an aqueous medium liquid containing a basic polymer to a recording material simultaneously with or before or after ejection of a recording liquid. CONSTITUTION:An aqueous medium liquid containing a basic polymer is adhered to a recording material simultaneously with or before or after ejection of a recording liquid, in an ink jet recording method in which the recording liquid comprising an aqueous medium and a coloring agent consisting of a water-soluble dye having a sulfonic acid group is ejected from an ejecting orifice to perform recording. By this method it is possible to obtain a printed matter with favorable water resistance, even in the case of recording on an ordinary paper. A coloring matter can be used as the coloring agent even if it is poor in water resistance, so long as it is favorable in properties other than the water resistance, such as tone, light resistance and dissolving properties.
