合成樹脂成形用の二軸押出機のスクリユーは材
料供給口たるホツパーに近い供給部、次いで混練
部、更に計量化部となつている。しかして、従来
樹脂中の揮発物の脱気のため供給部或は混練部に
おいて水を注入し、この注入された水と高温の樹
脂とを充分に混練し、樹脂中に含まれている揮発
物を水蒸気とともに混練部前方(下流側)に設け
たベントから排出する方法が採用されている。し
かしながら、従来の押出機スクリユーはスクリユ
ー軸の供給部及び混練部の全長に亘りスクリユー
溝、即ちスクリユーフライトが設けられている。
ところで、スクリユー軸の回転によつて樹脂には
前方(下流側)への推進力が付与されるが、注入
された水が気化し、これが一部逆流しホツパーに
迄至ることがある。そのため樹脂原料の供給が妨
げられ、また樹脂の流れが不安定となり押出機の
運転が安定せずサージング現象を起こし、更には
一旦可塑化溶融した樹脂がホツパー部で固化する
等の欠点が存していた。

Incidentally, the rotation of the screw shaft imparts a forward (downstream) propulsion force to the resin, but the injected water may vaporize and some of this may flow backwards and reach the hopper. As a result, the supply of resin raw materials is obstructed, the flow of the resin becomes unstable, the operation of the extruder becomes unstable and surging occurs, and furthermore, the plasticized and molten resin solidifies in the hopper. was.

本発明は従来の押出機の上記欠点を克服するこ
とを目的としたものである。本発明に係る二軸混
練押出機は、そのスクリユーに押出機の水注入口
より上流側において、一部スクリユーフライトを
設けず、スクリユー溝外径に等しい丸棒状の部分
を設けたことを特徴とする(以下、この部分をリ
カツト部分という)。即ち、供給部より前進せし
められ一部可塑化溶融した樹脂は、このリカツト
部分で推進力を弱められ滞留することとなるが、
その際押出機シリンダー内面とリカツト部分スク
リユー軸外面との間に形成されるドーナツ状の空
間に樹脂が充満する。そして供給部上流側より該
空間に押出された樹脂の量に応じて、該空間より
樹脂が更に前進する。したがつて、リカツト部分
の該空間には一部可塑化溶融した樹脂が常に充満
している。そのため押出機シリンダー内面と回転
するスクリユーとの間にベアリング効果を生ずる
こととなり、スクリユーのかじり現象を回避でき
るばかりでなく、下流側にて注入・気化した水蒸
気の上流側への逆流を防止することができる。そ
の結果上記した従来装置の欠点を解消することが
でき、押出機の運転が安定したものとなる。

る。ホツパー2に供給された樹脂原料は供給部5
にてかくはん前進せしめられ一部可塑化溶融し、
次いでリカツト部分8に滞留充満し、更に混練部
6、計量化部7を経て押出される。一方水注入口
11が混練部6の上流端に設けてあり、注入され
た水は押出機内にて気化し、樹脂中に含まれてい
る揮発物とともに脱気ベント3より排出される。
本実施例によれば上記した従来装置の欠点を回避
できるが、スクリユー駆動軸に回転力を付与する
主電動機の電流値の変動をみると、従来装置では
第3図に示すように電流の振巾が大きく運転が極
めて不安定であるが、本実施例ではリカツト部分
のベアリング効果により電流値の変動は第4図に
示すように極めて小さく安定している。
