[Prior Art] Conventionally, for example, in the above-mentioned circulating banknote deposit/dispensing machine, deposited banknotes inserted into a transaction port are recognized one by one by an identification unit, and genuine banknotes are classified into multiple denominations. A mixed batch of banknotes is temporarily stored in a bulk temporary storage unit near the transaction opening, and when the operator approves the deposit, one banknote is released from this bulk temporary storage unit.
The bills are fed out one by one and stored in the banknote storage section through the identification section or another identification section, and further, if the operator disapproves, the bills are returned all at once to the operator.

The conventional machine described above is intended to quickly return deposited banknotes 11 if the operator disapproves the deposit. However, as this type of machine has become more widespread, the usage status by operators has also been ascertained, and the results show that there are very few operations by operators to disapprove deposits, and operations to approve deposits account for the majority. It's clear.

However, with the above method, the banknotes temporarily held in the temporary holding space must be stored all at once with the banknote dispensing means in the upper area of the banknote storage section retracted when the deposit is approved, and the banknotes temporarily held in the temporary holding space must be stored all at once with the banknote dispensing means in the upper area of the banknote storage section retracted. Sometimes, it is necessary to have a mechanism for returning temporarily held banknotes from the temporary holding space to the operator all at once, and it is also necessary to provide these mechanisms for each temporary holding space. As a result, the problem arises that the height of the machine becomes high, the machine becomes large, and a large space is required.

This is because if this device is obtained, the problems associated with temporary holding in conventional circulating banknote depositing and dispensing machines can be solved by replacing the conventional banknote storage section with this device. Therefore,
A banknote storage unit in which banknotes are stored in a stacked state and in which banknotes are received and dispensed in an upper area; a banknote dispensing means provided in the upper area of the storage unit for feeding out banknotes; and a banknote payout unit that is movable up and down within the storage unit. In a banknote storage device having a cradle, which is provided in a cradle, from which banknotes can be placed in a stacked state, when the cradle is lowered, the banknotes are moved to a forward and backward position higher than the upper surface of the stacked banknotes on the cradle, which has been lowered to a predetermined position in the storage part. a'3, which is provided so as to be able to freely enter into the storage section in a substantially horizontal direction; ``a partition member that forms a temporary storage space for banknotes is provided in the upper area of the storage section;
When storing time-reserved banknotes, the partition material is advanced and withdrawn from the cradle, and temporarily-reserved banknotes are added to the top of the stacked banknotes on the cradle, and when paying out time-retention banknotes, the partition material is moved against the stopped pedestal. Only the partition material can be raised by the special vertical movement,
It is configured such that the temporarily reserved banknotes are fed out through the banknote feeding means.

By the way, when the pedestal is lowered, the partition material placed on the top surface of the stacked banknotes on the pedestal also descends to the advancing/retracting position, but this partition material may not descend smoothly, and in this case, the partition material It comes to a halt midway through the descent, remains in the storage section, and cannot exit the storage section. As a result, there is a problem in that the partition material gets in the way when the banknotes are fed out, making it impossible to feed out the banknotes.

In FIG. 13(B), partition material 3C
When all the temporarily reserved banknotes on the top are exhausted, a detection means (not shown) detects this and lowers the banknotes through the pedestal vertical mechanism 101, so that the upper surface of the stored banknotes on the pedestal 3B is lowered slightly below the insertion/removal height of the partition member 3C. When this happens, a detection means (not shown) detects the descent, and the upper and lower pedestals 1ihM101 are stopped (see FIG. 13(C)). Due to the descent of this pedestal 3B and the banknotes stored thereon, the partition member 3C is guided by the upper and lower slide plates 145, 145 by its own weight to the partition member insertion/removal position (elongated holes 142, 145 of the upper and lower slide plates 145, 145).

In the illustrated embodiment, the case where the present invention is applied to a circulating bill depositing and dispensing machine has been described, but it can also be applied to a cash register installed at a checkout office within a bank. In this case,
For example, when depositing money into a safe 15 installed in a different location, insert the safe 15 brought from the machine into the illustrated machine, such as a cash deposit box or cash deposit/withdrawal machine, and deposit the money into the machine. When the banknotes are fed out and collected, the amount accounted for in the banknotes is settled by doing so, and if the safe is a dispensing machine,
The necessary denomination banknotes from the storage sections 34 to 36 are fed out and stored in this safe, and the settlement management of the stored amount etc. is performed from this machine.
After the li15 is transported from this machine, it is inserted into a withdrawal bank and used as a withdrawal banknote. Therefore, the present invention is not limited to application to the aforementioned circulating bill depositing and dispensing machines.

As explained above, according to the present invention, the upper area of the banknote storage section is used as a temporary storage space, and the banknote storage device does not require a specially set temporary storage space. When applied to a circulating bill depositing and dispensing machine, etc., the space can be significantly reduced and the I machine can be prevented from increasing in size. In addition, storage of time-storage banknotes at the time of deposit approval is done by removing the partition material from the storage section, so it can be done in a very short time and it is possible to quickly move on to the next deposit or withdrawal process. There are various effects such as.
