The rotating bezel of a diver watch must be able to easily set the time for descent, bottom dwell, ascent, decompression, etc. during diving operations, and must not easily malfunction due to water pressure or tidal currents. Many proposals have been made regarding locking mechanisms for rotating bezels. Publication No. 53-16933,
One example is the one proposed in Japanese Patent Publication No. 56-47514, but since these require the rotating bezel to be operated while pressing a button, it is difficult to operate with one hand, and the rotating bezel is difficult to operate. Since the component is fixed by being inserted into the tooth groove of the rotating bezel, it has the disadvantage that it can easily be damaged if it is operated forcibly. (Unexamined Japanese Patent Publication No. 57-111491)
The problem with this is that it makes underwater operation extremely difficult.

The present invention was developed in view of these problems, and its purpose is to maintain either the locked or free state by simply moving the operating lever from side to side. An object of the present invention is to provide an improved locking mechanism that facilitates operation of a rotating bezel underwater.

The drawing shows an embodiment of the present invention, and reference numeral 1 in the drawing is a rotating bezel rotatably attached to the upper outer circumferential surface of the body 2, and the inner circumferential surface is attached to the upper edge of the rotating bezel. An annular dial ring 4 is fixed to the outer periphery of the windshield 3 and can be used to set the desired time with the time indicator or hand on the dial. The click grooves 5 corresponding to the scale marks on the dial ring 4 are cut at equal intervals. Reference numeral 6 denotes a click ball that engages with these click grooves 5 to position and lock the rotating bezel 1. The click ball 6 is fitted into a hole 7 vertically drilled below the rotating bezel 1 in the body 2, and is connected to a piece 8 to be described later. It is urged by a spring 9 interposed therebetween so as to be in constant pressure contact with the lower surface of the rotating bezel 1. Reference numeral 10 denotes an operating lever for holding the above-mentioned rotating bezel 1 in either a rotatable state or a non-rotatable state. The rod 10 is slidably inserted into the movement hole 13 with one end protruding, and there is a slot in the center of the rod 10 in the longitudinal direction into which the piece 8 urged by the spring 9 is dropped. A tapered portion 12 is cut for pushing up the diameter portion 11 and the piece 8 in the narrow diameter portion 11 to lock the rotating bezel 1. Note that the reference numeral 14 in the figure is
A rotating bezel gasket for stably rotating the rotating bezel 1, 15 a screw ring for fixing the windshield, and 16 a back cover.

In the embodiment described above, when one end of the operating rod 10 protruding from the left side of the watch case is pushed and moved to the right in the figure, the piece 8 that had been pushed up by the tapered portion 12 is moved by the pressing force of the spring 9. As a result, the spring 9 falls into the narrow diameter portion 11, whereby the spring 9 becomes compressible and becomes in a state in which the rotating bezel 1 can be rotated (FIG. 2).

In this state, rotate the rotating bezel 1 and set the required time, then turn the operating rod 10 that protrudes from the right side of the watch case by the previous operation.
When the end of the rod is pushed to move it to the left in the figure, the rod 10 pushes the piece 8 upward by the tapered part 12, tightens the spring 9, and makes the rotating bezel 1 non-rotatable. state (Figure 3). Note that even in this state, there is a slight gap between the windings of the spring 9, so if the rotating bezel 1 is forcibly rotated in this state, the spring 9 will bend further and damage the watch. To allow rotation of a rotating bezel 1 without causing rotation.

As explained above, according to the present invention, an operating rod having a length protruding from at least one side of the body is used, and the protruding end is pushed and moved from side to side to make the rotating bezel rotatable or non-rotatable. Since one of the two states is maintained, the switching operation of the rotating bezel between lock and free and the rotating operation of the rotating bezel are completely independent, making it extremely easy to operate with one hand while diving. be able to. Moreover, since a click member and a bridge member are used as the click mechanism of the rotating bezel, and a spring member is interposed between them, not only is reliable positioning possible even during normal rotation setting operations,
Even if the rotating bezel is forcibly rotated in a locked state, the force can be removed by the deflection of the spring member without damaging the watch.
