Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the flow phenomenon of a resin material and eliminate the generation of faulty molding as well as distortion, by a cut-and-removed part, formed on a boundary between a thick part and a thin part at the time of high-frequency heating. CONSTITUTION:A bottom force 8 is provided with a resistance to heat and is made of a non-conductive material such as silicone mold or the like, for example. while the bottom force 8 is formed with a recess 13 having a preset and predetermined configuration. A top force 9 is constituted of a metal, such as aluminum or the like, for example, which is provided with a large heat conductivity. A cut-and-removed part 5, holding the space of a pre-determined size or less, is formed at a boundary between the thick part 2 and the thin part 3 of a sheet 1 formed with differently colored parts 4 indicating a letter, a figure or the like on the surface thereof. When high-frequency electric current is applied for a predetermined period of time, a sheet 1, filled between the bottom force 8 and the top force 9, is foamed at the temperature of about 100-200 deg.C and the sheet 1 becomes a molten condition. In this case, the cut-and- removed part 5 extracts air in the foams prevents the resin material from flowing from the tin part 3 into the part 2.

Problems to be Solved by the Invention However, the conventional method for manufacturing decorative moldings for automobiles, especially the extruder C; When manufacturing a decorative molding that has a uniquely colored part that forms sections and displays letters, figures, etc. on the surface of the thick part, resin flows from the thin part to the thick part during heating and melting in a high frequency molding device. There is a problem in that a phenomenon occurs. The flow of the resin described above causes defects in the molding of the decorative molding, or distortions and smearing of letters and figures in the different color areas, which impairs the appearance.

As described in detail, according to the present invention, a sheet having a uniform thickness which is formed by extrusion molding using an extruder and mainly made of a foamable resin is divided into a thick part and a thin part. two,
In the method for manufacturing a decorative molding in which a uniquely colored part for displaying characters, figures, etc. is formed on the surface of the thick part, a cutout part is provided at the boundary between the thick part and the thin part to maintain an interval of not more than a predetermined dimension. After the sheet is formed, a lower mold made of a heat-resistant and non-conductive material and an upper mold made of a highly thermally conductive metal are filled, and the sheet is subjected to high-frequency heating treatment in the upper and lower molds. Since it is melt-molded, it brings about the effects described below.
