Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain the titled traveler, having excellent abrasion resistance and contriving prolonged life with hardly any initial yarn breakage, by forming an alloy steel wiry material containing C, Cr and V into the shape of a traveler, subjecting the formed wiry material to carburizing and hardening treatment to form a martensite structure. CONSTITUTION:The aimed traveler obtained by forming an alloy steel wiry material containing <=0.6% C, 0.6-1.5% Cr and 0.15-0.5% V into the shape of a given traveler and subjecting the formed wiry material to carburizing and hardening treatment to form a martensite structure containing 0.8-1.8% C.

<Conventional technology and its problems> Conventionally, metal travelers for spinning machines used in spinning machines and yarn twisting machines come in various shapes such as vertical, horizontal, and conical, and they are used depending on the purpose. ing.

However, in the spinning industry, which has a harsh spinning environment where high-volume production and high-speed spinning are carried out, a traveler with high abrasion, less yarn breakage, and less yarn fuzz is required from the viewpoint of stable operation and economy. . Conventionally, hardened carbon steel containing L8 to L1% carbon has been used to impart this long life and anti-friction properties, but the wear resistance is insufficient and the life is shortened. However, there was a problem in that it was not possible to obtain a product that satisfied the above requirements.

<Means to Solve the Problems> The present invention solves the above-mentioned conventional problems.
After forming the alloy steel machine containing the Or, 'I elements into a traveler shape, the carbon concentration is increased through carburizing and quenching to create a martensitic structure, thereby providing a traveler with high wear resistance.

<Function> Carbon dissolved in austenite during carburizing serves to strengthen martensite during quenching, and mata and chromium improve the toughness of martensite. Furthermore, vanadium becomes a fine carbide, which is effective in refining crystal grains and improving toughness.

As shown in Figure 1, the cross-sectional metallographic structure of the traveler above shows that KCr is solidly dissolved in the martensite base +11 containing 1.1 h of C due to carburization, and fine vanadium carbide (2) is dispersed◇ of the material. The amount of C is preferably 0.6 inches or less, and if it is more than that, the workability during forming the tongue bellows will be poor. Moreover, Cr is 0.6~
1.5%, V is preferably 0.15 to 0.5%; if it is less than the lower limit, the desired effect cannot be obtained, and if it is more than the upper limit, workability will deteriorate. If the Cf after carburizing is less than 0.8%, wear resistance cannot be obtained, and if it is more than L8%, it tends to become brittle.
