Abstract

PURPOSE:To enhance the efficiency of inspection and next stage operation by placing compartments each for a specific number of books after gathered leaves corresponding to a specific number of books, performing gathered folding of leaves corresponding to a specific number of books, and partitioning the gathered folded leaves. CONSTITUTION:A conveyor 2 is partitioned into compartments i),- by attachments 3 and driven intermittently at pitches of compartments i),-. Supplying units I-VIII to supply folded leaves are driven after every pitch motion of the compartments i),- one after another, and stacked there to provide gathered leaves corresponding to a specific number of books. When the compartment receiving the gathered folded leaves corresponding to a specific number of books passes the first supplying unit I, the supplying units I,- are stopped one after another until the amount corresponding to the set number of books, for ex. two compartments, have passed one after another, and after passage, are driven again one after another. Accordingly the gathered folded leaves corresponding to a specific number of books are partitioned into two compartments, and continuous gathered folding of leaves is carried out. This allows easy binding operation etc. at later stages.

However, with this type of method, the number of folded books (original books) that are conveyed and fed out one after another is continuous and there are no divisions, so it is necessary to send them to the cutting process in the subsequent process or to cut them back when bundling. It was very difficult to do this and it was not possible to do it smoothly and efficiently. In addition, since it was fed out continuously, it was difficult to inspect the folded books.

(Problem to be solved by the invention) Therefore, after a certain number of volumes of a set signature (original book) have been collated, the collation is stopped, a separator section where no collation is performed is placed, and a set signature of a certain number of volumes is assembled. (Folded books) It is necessary to divide each book into a predetermined number of books by collating them. It is difficult to divide the books into arbitrary set numbers, and the operation is also very troublesome, resulting in poor workability and reliability.

The collating device 1 is constructed by arranging 8 units in parallel in rows. A conveyor 2 having attachments 3 is installed at equal intervals with a pitch corresponding to each feeder, and the one-pitch movement speed and the signature 4 delivery speed of each feeder continuously move in synchronization with the circumferential speed. , the collating mechanism is such that each signature 4 fed out from each feeder is dropped onto a conveyor 2 by each corresponding attachment 3, sequentially stacked, and conveyed forward on the conveyor. Therefore, at the same time as the conveyor 2 starts operating, the signature supply operation is started sequentially from the first feeder ■ for each pitch movement of the conveyor 2.
First, when the conveyor 2 moves one pitch from the state shown in Fig. 1 (a) and the top part (a) comes under the feeder ■ (b),
At the same time, feeder I starts operating and the signature 4 of feeder I is 1.
A sheet is being fed out. Next, when the conveyor 2 moves one pitch further, the attachment 3 drops the folds 4 of the feeder ■ onto the top (A), and the top (A) is located below the feeder ■. At the same time, feeder ■ starts operating and feeder 1. The state is the same as (2) in which each of the signatures 4 shown in (2) is fed out one by one. Subsequently, when the conveyor 2 moves one pitch further, the attachment 3 moves the signature 4 of the feeder I to the top section (B), and the signature 4 of the feeder H to the first signature 4 of the top section (A). At the same time, feeder ① starts operating and feeder 1. The state shown in (1) is reached in which one signature 4 of II and H is fed out. Next, when the conveyor 2 moves further by 1 pitch, the attachment causes the signature 4 of the feeder I to be placed on the top section (c), and the signature 4 of the feeder ■ is placed on top of the signature 4 in the top section (b). Then, the signatures 4 of the feeder ■ are dropped onto the signatures 4 of the top section (a), and at the same time, the feeder ■ starts operating and the signatures 4 of the feeder
.. The same (
e). In this way, after the conveyor 2 moves and the last feeder ■ starts operating, it reaches the state shown in (ke), and then when the conveyor 2 moves one pitch further, it reaches the same state (ke).
If the paper is moved one pitch further, it will be in the same state as (i), and the eight signatures 4 fed out from each feeder will be stacked to form a book (M). Then, they are sequentially sent forward to the next process.

Next, a predetermined number of books (
Figure 2 (C) shows that the top section (R) of conveyor 2, on which the 11th set of signatures will be loaded, has arrived at the first feeder I.
The switch is turned on, and the signature feeding operation of the feeders is stopped one after another, starting from the first feeder (2). That is, the operation of the first feeder I is stopped in the same (S), and then the operation of the second feeder ■ is stopped in the same (C), and so on. At the same time (g) when the feeder (2) is stopped, the collection signature (M) of the set number of books loaded on the top section (l) is fed out from the collating device 1. However, in the above process, the signature feeding operation was stopped sequentially starting from the first feeding machine I by the number of division frames "2" for the set number of books (feeding machine 1.I
After the state (C) in which machine I is stopped, the operation of supplying signatures to the next succeeding conveyance system is started again in sequence from the first supply machine I. That is, at the same time that the next frame (a) of the two dividing frames comes under the feeder ■ (n), the feeder I starts operating at the same time, and the sheet 4 of the feeder I is delivered to one sheet. It's being rolled out. Next, when the conveyor 2 moves one pitch, the attachment 3 drops the signatures 4 of the feeder ■ onto the top part (A), and the top part (A) is located under the feeder ■, and in this case, at the same time Feeder ■ starts operating and feeder 1. This is the same (evening) state in which one signature 4 of II is fed out. Subsequently, when the conveyor 2 moves one pitch further, the signature 4 of the feeder I is moved by the attachment 3 to the top section (
At the same time that the signatures 4 of the feeder ■ are dropped onto the first signature 4 of the top section (a), the feeder ■ starts operating and the feeder ], TI, m The state shown in (H) is reached in which one signature 4 is fed out. In this way, the conveyor 2 moves one by one until it reaches the same state (d) where the last feeder ■ starts operating, then when the conveyor 2 moves one pitch further, it reaches the same state (nu), and then one more pitch. When you move, the state is the same (ne), and when you move one pitch further, the state is the same ()
), moving one pitch further will result in the same state (c),
Furthermore, when the pitch is moved, the same state as (H) is reached, and the eight signatures 4 fed out from each feeder become a set of signatures (M) stacked to form a book, and two It is one that is sequentially delivered forward as a subsequent conveyance system after placing the dividing piece. Then, when the conveyor top section on which the predetermined number of collected signatures (M) set on the counter is loaded reaches the first feeder I, the switch is turned on again.
The operation of the supply machines is repeated in sequence, with the operation of the supply machines being stopped one after another, starting from the first supply machine I.

(Effects of the Invention) Since the present invention is as described above, the collection of signatures is stopped after a predetermined number of volumes have been collated, and a separator section is placed where no collation is performed for an arbitrary number of volumes, and a predetermined amount of fat is collected again. This has the effect of automatically and continuously operating the work of separating a predetermined number of books, such as collating signatures, with good work efficiency and reliably. According to this invention, since the continuous feeding and conveyance of set folded books (folded books) can be divided into arbitrary number of books, work such as feeding during cutting or turning during bundling in the subsequent process can be done efficiently. In addition to being able to use the separated sections as a guide for inspection and other work, the folded book has excellent effects such as being able to easily pick up and inspect the folded book since the folded book is interrupted. There is.
