を損ねることが多かつた。

基板1にはセメントの他に補強用の石綿,ガラス
繊維、有機物繊維(例えばパルプ,ポリビニルフ
オルマール,ナイロン,ポリエステルなどの繊
維)などを含有せしめるのが普通であり、外層2
には高炉水砕スラグの他に同様な目的で少量の石
綿を添加するのが普通である。外層にはまた、着
色用の顔料(例えばベンガラなど)が少量添加さ
れることもある。外層2の表面には必要に応じて
1層または複数層の塗料層3がもうけられる。こ
のように、セメントを主成分とする基板の外側に
高炉水砕スラグを主成分とする外層をもうけてお
けば基板のセメントから出てくるアルカリは高炉
水砕スラグを主成分とする外層に吸収され、セメ
ント板の表面にまで溶出することはなくなる。従
つて従来のセメント板に見られた表面が白色に変
色する現象即ち白華が起こるのを防ぐことができ
るのである。基板の厚みは4〜10mmとするのが一
般的であり、これに対する外層の厚みは0.05〜
2.0mmとするのが好ましく、さらには0.1〜0.3mmと
するのがより好ましい。なお、表面の塗料層はセ
メント板に防水性をもたせること、白華の抑制を
助けセメント板の美感を高めることなどを目的と
してもうけられるもので、普通、水性アクリル樹
脂エマルジヨンなどの合成樹脂液が塗布される。

外層、3aは水性アクリル樹脂エマンジヨンによ
る塗料層、3bはエナメル塗料層である。このセ
メント板は長時間を経過したあとも白華を生じる
ことがなく、美麗な表面を保つたままであつた。

建築材料として優れたものである。しかも、この
ようにして構成される主体の表面に、化粧層とな
る塗料層が設けられているので、この塗料層が空
気中の炭酸ガスを遮断し、白華の発生をより効果
的に防止する。
