Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent solvent from being lifted from the end faces of an application roller by forming annular recessed parts between the periphery and axis of the roller on both the end faces of the roller. CONSTITUTION:The conically recessed parts 80 whose axial dimension is shortened in the direction of a rotary shaft 54 are formed on both the end faces of the application roller 52. Since the recessed parts 80 are formed on both the end faces of the roller 52, water 70 lifted to a bead part 70A arrived at the end faces at the time of rotation of the roller 52 is guided to the bottom parts 80A of the recessed parts 80 by its dead weight before contact with a photosensitive material 16 and dropped into a tank 72. Consequently, the water 70 is not lifted up to the back of the material 16, so that thick application of water to the material 16 near the corner part 80B of the roller 52 can be suppressed.

[Prior Art and Problems to be Solved by the Invention] As an image recording device for obtaining a color image using a heat-developable photosensitive material, an image is exposed to the heat-developable photosensitive material as shown in JP-A-59-75247. After that, it is sent to the heat development department, and after heat development, the photosensitive material is covered with receiver paper? It is known that an image is transferred to image-receiving paper through a transfer process.

For this reason, in the apparatus shown in Japanese Patent Application Laid-open No. 59-75247, water is applied by drawing water from a liquid tank with a roller. When water is applied using a coating roller in this way, excess water is generated at the contact area between the receiving paper and the roller end due to water lifting up from the roller end.
This will result in uneven coating.

[Means and effects for solving the problems] The image recording apparatus according to the present invention transfers an image recorded on a heat-developable photosensitive material to the image-receiving material in the presence of an image-forming solvent. The image recording apparatus includes a tank for accumulating the solvent, and a part of the tank is immersed in the solvent and rotates in accordance with the movement of the photothermographic material or the image-receiving material to heat the image forming solvent. It has a coating roller for coating the developing photosensitive material 1 or the image receiving material.

The image recording apparatus of the present invention includes a heat development section that heat-develops the exposed heat-developable photosensitive material, and a transfer section that heats the heat-developed photosensitive material and image-receiving material by overlapping them and transferring the image to the image-receiving material. The department may be provided separately,
In addition, there is a heat development/transfer section in which the heat development section and the transfer section are provided at the same location, that is, the heat development/transfer section that overlaps and heats the exposed photothermographic material and the image receiving material to perform heat development and thermal transfer at the same time. It may be provided.

In this image recording apparatus 10, a magazine 14 is mounted on a machine stand 12 and stores a photothermographic material 16. The photosensitive material 16 in the magazine 14 is pulled out from its outer periphery, cut into a predetermined length by the cutter 18, and then wound around the outer periphery of the exposure drum 20 (in the direction of arrow A in FIG. 2). The exposure drum 20 is rotated in reverse after exposure, and the photosensitive material 16 is peeled off by a scraper 24 and sent to a development transfer section 28 via a water application section 34.

A portion of the coating roller 52 is immersed in a tank 72 filled with ice 70, which is an image forming solvent, and when the coating roller 52 rotates, 7° of water is brought out on the same surface and transferred to the back surface of the photosensitive material 16. It can be applied with. The application roller 52 is rotated in the direction of arrow C by an auxiliary means such as a motor while the photosensitive material 16 is being advanced, and the water 70 is brought out on its outer peripheral surface to form a heavy back portion 70A of the photosensitive material 16.

The application roller 52 attaches the water 7o in the tank 72 to its surface and takes it out, forms a bead 70A between it and the back surface of the photosensitive material 16, and this is applied to the back surface of the photosensitive material 16.

Here, since concave portions 80 are formed on both end surfaces of the application roller 52, the water 70 lifted up to the bead portion 70A reaching this end surface when the application roller 52 rotates comes into contact with the photosensitive material 16. Since it is guided to the bottom 80A by its own weight and falls into the tank 72, it does not lift up to the back surface of the photosensitive material 16, and thick coating on the photosensitive material 16 near the corner 80B of the coating roller 52 can be prevented.

Further, when the coating roller 52 and the photosensitive material 16 are in close contact with each other, the water that protrudes to both ends of the coating roller 52 is also absorbed by the photosensitive material 16.
Since the included angle (angle C in FIG. 3) between the coating roller 16 and the end of the coating roller 4j is an obtuse angle, the effect of surface tension is small and the water 7o is guided to the bottom surface 80A of the recessed portion 8o.

The photosensitive material 16 subjected to water cooling rH3 in the water coating section 34 is sent to the thermal transfer/developing section 28. The thermal development image-receiving paper 32 taken out from the tray 30 is sent to the thermal transfer/developing section 28 and overlapped with the photosensitive material 16. Here, when heat development is performed in the presence of water, the dye image formed at [1v] is thermally transferred to the emulsion surface of the image receiving paper 32. In this transfer state, the necessary amount of water has already been appropriately applied to the photosensitive material 16, so that an extremely good transfer operation can be performed.
