Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 〔技術分野〕 本発明はペーパーマシン・クローシング
（papermachine clothing）に係り、特に、多孔
性フイラメントおよび繊維をそれらの構造におい
て使用することにより改善された、化学的に処理
されたペーパーマシン・クローシングに関する。
〔従来技術〕
ペーパーマシン・クローシング、すなわちエン
ドレス乾燥織物、水分プレスフエルト、およびフ
オーミング・ワイヤ等は、これまで、製紙機に使
用するために要求される仕様を満足するために、
広範な種類の天然および合成のフイラメントや繊
維から製造されてきた。たとえば、上述のような
ペーパーマシン・クローシングを形成する織物
は、耐摩耗性、堅さ、そして寸法の安定性を得る
ために樹脂処理が施され、加水分解抵抗および他
の性質を達成するために化学薬品による処理が施
されている。しかし従来、これらの化学処理の価
値は、クローシングの織物が上記織物処理で与え
られた化学薬品を保持する能力によつてある程度
制限されている。
本発明による製紙機のクローシングは、従来の
クローシングに比して、長時間に渡り化学処理に
おける望ましい特性を保有している、という点で
優れている。
〔発明の要旨〕
本発明は 粘着性のある織物構造における複数の合成重合
樹脂繊維かつ／またはフイラメントから成るペー
パーマシン・クローシングにおいて、 前記織物構造における貫通孔を有する多孔性繊
維かつ／またはフイラメントを含むことを特徴と
するペーパーマシン・クローシングである。
〔発明の望ましい実施例〕
合成重合樹脂の繊維およびフイラメントが材料
の乾燥フエルト、水分プレスフエルトおよびフオ
ーミング・ワイヤを含む従来のペーパーマシン・
クローシングは、それらの製造方法として知られ
ている。このようなペーパーマシン・クローシン
グおよびその構成方法を代表するものが次のもの
に記載されている。すなわち、米国特許
3399111；3613258；3617442；3839136；
3867766；3928699；4107367；4142557；
4187618；4196248；4281689；4290209そして
RE21890である。
一般に、従来技術の製紙用クローシングは、特
定の粘着性のある織物構造において、多数の合成
重合樹脂の繊維若しくはフイラメントを織り合わ
せることにより構成されていた。たとえば、フオ
ーミングおよび乾燥織物は、多数の機械方向およ
び機械交差方向のモノフイラメント糸又はマルチ
フイラメント糸を、選択された緯糸（filling
yarns）を用いた又は用いない特定の織りパター
ンに織り合わすことによつて製造される。また、
水分プレスフエルトおよび乾燥フエルトは、複合
織物、より詳しく言えば、不織繊維材（一般にス
テープル繊維）より成るウエブが縫われてある織
スクリムを有する複合織物である。また、ペーパ
ーマシン・クローシングは種々の理由のために化
学的に処理される。たとえば、それらは、耐熱性
を改善するために高耐熱重合樹脂で、耐摩耗性を
改善するために尿素ホルムアルデヒド樹脂のよう
な合成重合樹脂で、また耐久性および耐火性を改
善するために高耐熱性樹脂でコートされる等の処
理が施される。たとえば、米国特許4015038；
4162190そして4267227を参照のこと。
織物の性質を変えるために、製紙機械のクロー
シングを化学薬品で処理する工程において、処理
化学薬品は一般に織物中の繊維の表面に付着す
る。また、理論的には、化学薬品が繊維の束の中
へ、更に繊維空間中へ侵入する可能性も存在す
る。本発明では、クローシング織物に存する織物
繊維又はフイラメントの一部分が多孔性繊維で構
成されている。ここで、多孔性繊維は、その中に
少なくも２つの過程によつて小穴（micro―
pores）が形成される繊維およびフイラメントと
して定義される。前記２つの過程は、熱的又は化
学的手段によつて除去可能な成分の含有によつて
繊維又はフイラメントを製造する過程、又は反応
すると小穴を生成する反応成分を共に押出す
（co―extrusion）過程である。米国特許
3303045；3785919；4157424そして4252855に記載
された多孔性繊維およびフイラメントを参照のこ
と。多孔性繊維およびフイラメントに小穴が存在
することで、化学処理において与えられた化学薬
品の繊維への浸透がより容易となり、化学薬品の
繊維への浸入が改善されうる。
先ず、第１図は本発明のペーパーマシン・クロ
ーシングベルト１０の一実施例の斜視図である。
ベルト１０は乾燥フエルト、水分プレスフエル
ト、又はフオーミングワイヤを表わしている。第
２図は水分プレスフエルト織物２０の拡大側断面
図であり、本発明のクローシングを表わし、複数
の織物ステープル繊維２６より成る不織ウエブ２
４が縫われた織スクリム２２のベースを含んでい
る。第３図は繊維２６の拡大図であり、図に示す
ように、繊維２６は多数の小穴３０を備えた多孔
性繊維である。多孔性の繊維又はフイラメントか
ら部分的又は全体的に構成される織物２０は、織
物２０の性能を改善するための化学薬品処理をよ
り有効に行なうことができる。

  1. 【特許請求の範囲】 １ 粘着性のある織物構造における複数の合成樹
    脂繊維かつ／またはフイラメントから成るペーパ
    ーマシン・クローシングにおいて、 前記クローシングに存する繊維かつ／またはフ
    イラメントが化学処理において与えられる化学薬
    品の浸透を容易にするような多孔性繊維かつ／ま
    たはフイラメントを含むことを特徴とするペーパ
    ーマシン・クローシング。
