Abstract

PURPOSE:To represent characters having a gold or silver luster by a printer, by sequentially providing a vapor deposition anchor layer, a vapor-deposited layer having a metallic luster and an adhesive layer on one side of a base, while causing the adheisve layer to comprise as a main constituent a polyamide resin having a softening point in a specified range. CONSTITUTION:An adhesive layer of a thermal transfer recording material comprises as a main constituent, a polyamide resin having a softening point of 50-200 deg.C, and is provided on a vapor-deposited layer having a metallic luster and provided after providing a releasable layer and a vapor deposition anchor layer. By this, it is possible to enhance adhesiveness to the vapor- deposited layer and maintain printability (transfer properties), and to obtain a printed matter having an excellent metallic luster. A stretched polyester film having a thickness of 3.5 mum is used as a base, and the releasable layer 3, a colored anchor layer 4, the vapor-deposited layer and the adhesive layer 6 are sequentially provided on one side of the base 2 to produce the thermal transfer recording material 1. When the recording material 1 is set to a thermal printer having a 6-dot/mm line thermal head and printing is conducted, transferred images having an excellent metallic luster are obtained.

By the way, this method is adopted in printers such as Japanese word processors and is often used for printing on invitations, information cards, letters, etc. Invitations, information cards, etc. often use characters such as ``Kin1'' and ``Gin'', which have many of the advantages mentioned above. There is a strong desire to develop a thermal transfer recording medium that can express characters with a glossy appearance of gold or silver using a printer that uses a thermal transfer recording method.

Conventional thermal transfer recording materials include thermal transfer, d peeling and transfer. Think! In some cases, one piece of peeling is provided. In the present invention, if the vapor-deposited anchor layer described above has this releasability, it is not necessary to provide this releasability. If the desired releasability cannot be obtained with the vapor-deposited anchor 1 alone, add a release layer between this vapor-deposited anchor layer and one side of the support. Just form it. The thermal transfer recording material of the present invention is made of a polyamide resin whose softening temperature of the constituent composition is in the range of 50 to 200°C. Main body, peeling 1- and vapor deposition anchor 1-? Since it is spread over the vapor deposited layer with metallic luster formed through the 1g adhesion layer, it is possible to improve adhesion with the 1g adhesion layer and maintain printability (transferability), resulting in printing with excellent metallic luster. You will be able to do things (4).
