である。即ち、水平対向2気筒エンジンにより往

せて相殺させることができるが、水平方向の寸法
が従来の単気筒エンジンのものと比較して極端に
大きくなり、携帯用チエンソーとして作業者に大
きな負担になつていた。特に、エンジンの回転部
が2気筒の中心部に位置するために1気筒分が従
来のチエンソーの前方にあることになり、ソーチ
エンが回転されるソーチエン案内板を長くしなけ
ればならなかつた。また、この種の対向2気筒エ
ンジンを垂直対向にして用いると、ソーチエン案
内板を長くする必要がなくなるが、作業者がチエ
ンソー本体の前後方向に設けられた前部ハンドル
と後部ハンドルとを両手で握つて鋸断作業を行う
ために、上部に位置する気筒が作業者の顔面部に
対向することになり、視界を妨げられるだけでな
く、鋸断時に回転しているソーチエンと被鋸断物
との接触による反動でその突出気筒が顔面の方向
に跳ね返る等、作業性に問題があつた。

ランク室予圧縮掃気式としている。このクランク
ケース1はクランクシヤフト4の中間でシヤフト
と直角方向に2分割した割り形である。このクラ
ンクケース1の両外側には補器類取り付け用の耳
筐体部7及び8を拡張延設している。そして一側
耳筐体部7内に於いてクランクシヤフト4の延設
軸部に遠心クラツチ装置9を取着し、チエンスプ
ロケツト10と一体のクラツチドラム11や安全
制動装置等を収容し、ソーチエン案内板12の取
着座部14及び安全制動用レバー装置13等を設
けている。又、これに隣接して油タンク筐体部1
5を後部に一体に設けている。そして夫々には蓋
体16及び17を設けて外装若しくは容器を形成
する。他側の外側耳筐体部8内に於いてクランク
シヤフト4の他端延設部に送風用フアン18を一
体に備えたフライホイルマグネツトロータ19を
軸着し、この周辺に起電用コイル20や点火用電
子ユニツト21等を設け、外側を着脱自在な蓋体
22によつて外装している。該蓋体22には送風
用空気取入口23を形成しており、内側中央にリ
コイルスタータ24を一体に取着し、前記フライ
ホイルマグネツトロータ19に設けた伝動爪25
とリコイルスタータ24の起動爪26との係脱に
よつて前記クランクシヤフト4を回動自在としエ
ンジンEの起動を可能としている。。これら両耳
筐体部7及び8は前記エンジンシリンダ部の両側
を囲い送風気流の通路の一部を形成してシリンダ
2及び3を冷却する。又、これら両耳筐体部7及
び8等を含むエンジンE部は、前後ハンドル27
及び28を有する枠体29と弾性部材30,3
1,32及び33を介して吸振的に連結される。
第3図は弾性部材の位置を説明するもので、ハン
ドルに振動が伝達するのを効果的に防止すること
が出来る。即ち両耳筐体部7及び8の周囲内面に
弾性部材を設け、この弾性部材に対向して上下に
2分割された前記枠体29が上下方向から挿入結
合されてエンジンE部と弾性的に結合される。こ
の枠体29の上側前部に燃料タンク34を設けこ
れに隣接して後方に前記吸気系室41を形成して
おり、該吸気系室41の周囲には通気孔(図示せ
ず)を設けている。そして枠体29の下部前方の
マフラーMを収容する位置に矩形状の深皿形底部
35を形成し、通気並びに重量軽減のために多数
の通孔を設けている。

されることが防止出来、且つシリンダ列の上下に
形成される空間を利用して上部では吸気により燃
料タンクを冷却することができ、下部ではマフラ
ー容積を充分にとることができ、排気口を前方に
向けて作業者に排気騒音による不快や、健康を害
する排気の吸入を防止することができ、更にはシ
リンダ冷却用送風でシリンダの周囲を冷却しなが
らマフラーをも冷却することができ、マフラーを
露出することなく安全に排気処理ができる。
