To fix the terminal to the electric wire, methods such as soldering as shown in FIG. 10, crimping as shown in FIG. 11, and pressure welding as shown in FIG. 12 are used. However, the simple /'% soldering method is insufficient in mechanical strength such as vibration resistance and impact resistance, and is also unreliable due to corrosion caused by flux. On the other hand, in the crimp method, the conductor b2 of the electric wire b1 is placed inside the barrel b of the terminal b3, and the pressure connection is made by compressing it from the outside.
By press-fitting into the U-shaped groove C6 of the wire, the insulation coating of the wire is cut and a pressure connection is made between the conductor C2 and the terminal C3, but since both are just surface contacts, stress relaxation due to heat or corrosion due to gas, etc. Due to this, electrical reliability is insufficient, such as poor contact.

There is also a method of crimping or soldering after pressure welding, but this method has the disadvantage of increasing the number of man-hours for connection and increasing the work cost.

Further, N1 and N2 are cutters for cutting off the tip portion 2a of the electric wire. The core wire 2 is subjected to ultrasonic welding and press working in mold parts M1 and M2 to form a terminal 3, and further, the end portion 2a is cut off by cutters N1 and N2, and a hole 4 is made as necessary. Then, in order to protect the part of the core wire 2 that has not been welded, for example, a heat-shrinkable plastic tube 5 is attached so as to span from the base of the terminal 30 to the sheathing part of the wire, and heat-treated to make it stick tightly, completing the terminal wire A. do.
