The present invention relates to an improved pearl agent composition that can be used in shampoos, facial cleansing creams, etc. The present invention relates to an improved pearlescent agent composition that can be used in shampoos, facial cleansing creams, etc., and contains as an essential component a fatty acid diester of ethylene glycol or triethylene glycol having 14 or more carbon atoms in each fatty acid moiety. % (by weight, the same applies hereinafter) or more, and the pearl agent composition contains at least 50% (by weight, the same hereinafter) of an asymmetric fatty acid diester in the diester. Generally, pearling agents such as mica, fatty acids, fatty acid metal salts, fatty acid amides, and glycol fatty acid esters are used; Currently, there are some shortcomings and there is nothing to be satisfied with. The following properties are required as a pearl agent. (1) A stable pearl product with excellent pearl luster and a beautiful appearance can be obtained; (2) The resulting pearls are stable against temperature changes; (3) viscosity and foaming power are not affected; (4) It does not reduce the cleaning effect, (5) Good pearls can be obtained with a small amount added, (6) It is cheap, and currently, glycol fatty acid esters are used in relatively large amounts in pearl agents. Compared to other pearlescent agents, it satisfies the above performance to a large extent. However, glycol fatty acid esters also have many drawbacks, such as reducing the foaming power of the product, making it difficult to obtain stable and beautiful pearls, and having poor temperature resistance. These glycol fatty acid esters are produced by a direct esterification reaction of ethylene glycol or triethylene glycol and fatty acids, and therefore contain the following various components. (1) Fatty acid monoester (2) Fatty acid diester a Symmetric diester esterified with the same type of fatty acid b Asymmetric diester esterified with a different type of fatty acid (3) Unreacted ethylene glycol (4) Unreacted fatty acid The present inventors By studying in detail the pearl performance of each component and their combination of glycol fatty acid ester, which is a complex mixture containing many of these components, we have developed a pearl with excellent pearl luster and high stability at a high crystallization temperature. I was able to obtain the drug. That is, the pearl agent composition of the present invention contains ethylene glycol or triethylene glycol fatty acid ester as a main component, the diester content is 90% or more, and the asymmetric diester content in the diester is 50% or more, It contains two or more mixed fatty acids each having a fatty acid carbon number of 14 or more. One or more of these may be used. The content of the asymmetric diester contained in the diester is not particularly limited as long as it is 50% or more, but it is usually used up to about 60% due to difficulties in production. Also, as a fatty acid, the number of carbon atoms is
Myristic acid, palmitic acid, stearic acid, etc. having 14 or more carbon atoms are used, and there is no particular upper limit to the number of carbon atoms, but fatty acids having up to about 24 carbon atoms, which are generally produced in the industry, can be used. Diethylene glycol fatty acid esters significantly inhibit pearl luster, and monoesters lower the pearl precipitation temperature and further increase the viscosity of detergents containing pearling agents. Among ethylene glycol or triethylene glycol difatty acid esters, symmetrical diesters have good pearlescent luster, but they reduce the foaming properties of detergents. In contrast to symmetric diesters, asymmetric diesters exhibit an extremely superior pearlescent luster and do not affect the foaming properties and viscosity of detergents. It has been found that containing 50% or more of an asymmetric diester exhibits excellent pearl agent properties. Commercially available glycol fatty acid ester type pearling agents contain only 50% or less of asymmetric diester, and are inferior to the pearling agent composition of the present invention in pearl luster, thickening properties, and foaming properties. The pearl agent composition of the present invention exhibits excellent pearl luster, does not affect the viscosity and foaming properties of the detergent added thereto, and has excellent temperature resistance. The amount of the pearl agent composition of the present invention added to shampoo etc. varies depending on the object to which it is added, but generally the amount added may be 0.5% to 5% by weight. Next, examples of the present invention will be shown. In addition, the % shown in the examples
represents weight %. Examples 1 to 4 Ethylene glycol fatty acid ester was synthesized from mixed fatty acids having 16 and 18 carbon atoms and ethylene glycol, and the usefulness of the pearl agent composition of the present invention was investigated by adding 2% to the shampoo formulation shown below. Ta. As a result, as shown in Examples 1 to 4 in Table 1, it was found that excellent pearling performance was exhibited.
