Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain the subject composition, excellent in foaming properties and improved in low-temperature stability by using and blending a polyoxypropylene alkyl ether sulfate with a nonionic surfactant having properties of forming a liquid crystal state at ordinary temperature, when employing water as a medium in combination. CONSTITUTION:A detergent composition is obtained by blending (A) a polyoxypropylene alkyl ether sulfate expressed by formula I (R is 8-20C alkyl; (x) is 1-10; M is alkali metal, magnesium, ammonium or aliphatic alkanolamine; (n) is the valence of M) with (B) a nonionic surfactant [e.g. an 8-12C straight- chain fatty acid monoglyceride or trimethylolmethyl-branched alkane expressed by formula II [(r) and (s) are 0-19; (r+s) is 7-19] having properties of forming a liquid crystal state at ordinary temperature when employing water as a medium and, preferably further blending a cationic polymer (e.g. cationic cellulose or cationic starch).
