Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain easily a sheet-like molding material having a pattern being full of variety, by coating a film with a coloring agent and converting it with a filler-mixed resin material. CONSTITUTION:Cover films 1a and 1b composed of a polyester film and so on are continuously delivered out of winding rolls 2 and 2. The lower cover film 1b is coated in a desired pattern such as a stripe or a spot pattern with a coloring agent 7 such as a pigment paste, a dye solution and so on, and then, a resin material 3 mixed with a filler such as an inorganic powder and so on is thereon continuously arranged in a layer. Further, a reinforcing material 4 such as a glass cloth, a glass fiber and so on is thereof continuously placed. Then, the upper cover film 1a is thereon continuously piled. The sheet-like material 5 thus obtained is put between a pair of an upper and a lower molding rolls 6a and 6b to be molded continuously into a sheet material of a desired thickness. Then, it is once wound or not wound, and aged to give a sheet molding material.

Conventionally, this method uses a uniformly colored material in which colorants such as pigments are dispersed in the resin and filler, or colored particles such as mica grains, colored aluminum foil pieces, and colored vinylon staple fibers are dispersed in the resin and filler. Because it is made by using a material with a uniform pattern, it lacks variation in pattern and cannot produce the richly varied patterns seen in natural marble. For this reason, conventional SMC has been completely unsatisfactory in terms of producing products with beautiful appearance.

In order to achieve the above object, the present invention provides a method for manufacturing a sheet-like molding material that includes a step of covering a filler-containing resin material with a film and then forming it into a sheet, in which a coloring agent is applied to the film and a filler-containing resin material is coated with a filler. The gist of this invention is a method for producing a sheet-like molding material, which is characterized by covering a mixed resin material.

A resin material 3 mixed with a filler such as non-aluminum powder is continuously arranged in a layer on the lower cover film lb, and further,
A reinforcing material 4 such as glass cloth or glass fiber is continuously arranged. Then, the upper cover film 1a is continuously superimposed thereon. The sheet-like body 5 thus obtained is placed between a pair of upper and lower forming rolls 6a, 6b, and is continuously formed into a sheet-like shape having a desired thickness. Then, once rolled up, or without being rolled up, it is aged and made into a sheet-like molding material.

This process itself is no different from the conventional one, but in this invention, before placing the filler-containing resin material 3 on the lower cover film lb, a colorant 7 such as a pigment paste or a dye solution is placed on the cover film lb. Apply it in a desired pattern such as stripes or spots. This point is different from the conventional method. The colorant may be in powder form. The pattern can be chosen freely.

FIG. 2 represents another embodiment. As shown in the figure,
Cover films la and lb such as polyester films are continuously unwound from winding rolls 2 and 2. A coloring agent 7 is first applied onto the lower cover film 1b, and then a resin material 3 mixed with a filler such as an inorganic powder is continuously arranged in a layered manner. In this case, the filler-containing resin material 3 is once sent to a roll device 8 such as a coater, and at this time, it is mixed with a reinforcing material 9 such as short glass fiber, and is arranged in a layered form on the cover film lb. . and,
The upper cover film la is continuously superimposed thereon. Thereafter, the obtained sheet-like body 5 is formed into a pair of upper and lower forming rolls 6a.

As seen above, the method for producing a sheet-shaped molding material according to the present invention includes the step of covering a filler-containing resin material with a film and then forming it into a sheet, in which a colorant is added to the film. Since the filler-containing resin material is coated with the resin material, it is possible to easily obtain a sheet-like molding material having a pattern rich in variation.
