PURPOSE:To form high-quality images even on a recording paper low in smoothness, by heating a low-smoothness recording paper after the paper is released from an ink donor film. A low-smoothness recording paper 16 is fed between the ink donor film 11 and a platen roll 15, and an ink 17 heated correspondingly to an image signal is transferred onto the paper 16 at the position of the thermal head 12.
