Abstract

PURPOSE:To transmit a vibration energy in high efficiency by composing a support of an elastic material, and supporting the neutral surface of a stator by the support to support the stator with low loss. CONSTITUTION:A surface wave combined with lateral and longitudinal waves generated by a piezoelectric unit 2 is formed and propagated to a stator 3. The number of vibration of the stator 3 and the bending intrinsic vibration frequency of a support 4 are equalized or approximated, and the stator 3 is supported by the support 4 at the neutral surface 3a of the stator. A rotor/ moving element 30 is contacted with the stator 3 to be moved by the propagation of the surface wave.

[Detailed Description of the Invention] <Problems of the Prior Art and Objectives of the Invention> The present applicant has disclosed a surface wave motor and an ultrasonic motor device that utilize bending vibration (ultrasonic vibration) of a piezoelectric body. Conventional stator supports are springs or acoustic insulators (such as felt), but it has been difficult to support them without damaging the stator's vibration system. According to the support body of the present invention, it is optimal for the structure of various surface wave motors, and it is possible to support the stator with low loss.
It can transmit vibration energy with high efficiency. <Principle and its effects> The principle and effects of the present invention will be explained below with reference to the drawings. Figure 1 shows the operating principle, in which a surface wave (bending wave) composed of a transverse wave and a longitudinal wave generated by the piezoelectric body 2 is formed in the stator 3 and is propagating. In the present invention, regarding the torsional natural vibration of the stator,
Although not mentioned in detail, by supporting a portion of the stator, losses due to natural torsional vibrations are reduced. By making the frequency of the stator and the bending natural frequency of the support body 4 the same or similar, and supporting the stator at the neutral plane 3a, the loss of vibration energy of the stator can be minimized.
The motor is highly efficient and can transmit vibration energy. 2, 3, and 4 show an example of a surface wave motor in which a part of the outer circumferential neutral surface 7a of the stator 7 is supported by the support 8. 5, 6, and 7 show an example of a surface wave motor in which a part of the outer circumferential neutral surface 11a of the stator 11 is supported by the support 12. FIG. 8 shows an embodiment of a surface wave motor in which a part of the piezoelectric neutral surface 15a of the stator 15 is supported by a support l6.
