一部に電極を形成し、大気に接触させた内表面側
の内側電極と被検出気体に接触させた外表面側の
外側電極との間に発生する起電力により被検出気
体の酸素濃度を検出するようにした酸素センサに
おいて、前記外側電極のセラミツク管先端側に位
置部分をポーラス構造に形成すると共に基端側に
位置する部分を密構造に形成し、セラミツク管の
先端部外表面に少なくともポーラス構造電極部分
を覆う保護層を形成し、密構造電極部分をセラミ
ツク管の基端部外表面に露出させたことを特徴と
