UV curing ink in the printing and painting fields,
Alternatively, when a paint or the like is printed or applied on paper, plastic, etc. and cured by irradiation with ultraviolet rays, the paper or plastic may deform or shrink due to the heat rays from the ultraviolet lamp. To prevent this, if you insert an ultraviolet lamp into a double-tube water-cooling jacket and turn it on, the heat generated by the ultraviolet lamp can be removed by the cooling water that passes through the water-cooling jacket. Ultraviolet curing inks and paints can be used even for materials with poor heat resistance, such as photosensitive materials, expanding the range of uses for these types of photosensitive materials.

FIGS. 3 and 4 show an example of a conventional device of this type. In the figure, 1 is an ultraviolet lamp, and 2 is a double-tube type water cooling jacket made of quartz, and an inlet 3 and an outlet 4 for cooling water are provided at both ends. Reference numeral 5 denotes a reflector plate, which is disposed inside the instrument main body 6 so as to cover the water cooling jacket 2, and irradiates the ultraviolet rays from the ultraviolet lamp 1 downward.

In this conventional method, the reflector 5 reflects the ultraviolet rays from the ultraviolet lamp 1 downward, but at the same time it also reflects the heat rays from the lamp, so a water cooling jacket can remove some of the heat from the lamp.
The temperature rise of the irradiated object cannot be suppressed due to the reflected heat from the irradiation device, and measures are taken such as increasing the distance between the irradiation device and the irradiated object. This may cause inconveniences such as having to do so.

This invention uses a water-cooled jacket with a coating film formed on its upper half that reflects ultraviolet rays and transmits heat rays, and by providing reflective plates on both sides of the lower part of the water-cooled jacket, it suppresses the temperature rise of the irradiated surface. The present invention provides a device that efficiently irradiates ultraviolet rays. Note that a dielectric multilayer film made of titanium or the like is effective as a coating film that reflects ultraviolet rays and transmits heat rays.

In the figure, 1 is an ultraviolet lamp, and 2 is a double-tube water-cooled jacket whose upper outer surface is coated with a coating film 7 that reflects ultraviolet rays and transmits heat rays, and the ultraviolet lamp 1 is arranged in the inner space. An inlet 3 and an outlet 4 for cooling water to flow between the tube walls are provided at both ends. Reference numeral 6 denotes a main body of the apparatus, in which the water-cooling jacket 2 is set, and reflectors 8 are arranged on both sides of the lower half of the water-cooling jacket 2. The heat-transmitting coating film 7 can also be applied to the inner and outer surfaces of the inner tube or the inner surface of the outer tube of the water-cooled jacket. Furthermore, the application range and the size of the reflector can be arbitrarily selected depending on the object to be irradiated. Furthermore, the heat transmitted through the heat-transmissive coating film can be removed by exhausting the air inside the device body 6 using a blower or the like.

In the device of the present invention, the heat from the ultraviolet lamp 1 is removed by the cooling water flowing between the tube walls of the water cooling jacket 2, and the heat is further transmitted through the heat ray transparent coating film, so that the heat removal effect is improved. In general, the upward UV rays from the lamp are reflected downward by the coating film, and the lateral UV rays from the lamp are reflected downward by the reflector, so that the UV rays are not transmitted to the irradiated object. It can be irradiated effectively.
