Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable stable operation at low voltage by simple constitution, by utilizing that a continuity state is obtained when the potential of the base terminal of a transistor became lower by about 0.6V than that of the emitter terminal thereof. CONSTITUTION:When the voltage of a battery 1 is yet sufficiently high, because the potential of a base terminal 4B is higher than that of an emitter terminal 4E, no current flows to the base terminal 4B and, therefore,a transistor 4 is in an OFF-stage and a light emitting diode 11 does not light. However, when the load of a motor 3 abruptly becomes large or voltage lowers to Va by the consumption of the battery 1, a current flows to the base terminal 4B and the transistor 4 goes to an ON-state and the light emitting diode 11 lights to inform voltage drop. At this time, detection voltage can be arbitrarily set by resistance values 7, 8 and a constant voltage diode 5.

2. Description of the Related Art Conventionally, this type of voltage drop display circuit has been constructed as shown in FIG. In this device with a motor 107 as a load, a reference voltage from a constant voltage diode 102 and a resistor 10
3 and the voltage divided by 104 are compared by the comparator 1 old, and the light emitting diode 1O5 is turned on when the voltage of the battery 106 drops, or the inputs to the inverting input terminal and the non-inverting input terminal of the comparator 101 are reversed. The voltage drop was indicated by turning off the light emitting diode 105 when the voltage dropped. The resistors 108 and 109 are each for current limiting.

Problems to be Solved by the Invention In such a conventional configuration, the circuit configuration is complicated, and since the comparator 101 is used, a power source is required for the comparator 101.
Since the power supply voltage itself fluctuates, the operation of the comparator 101 may become unstable, and there is a problem in that the comparator 101 stops operating at an extremely low voltage.

Means for Solving the Problems The voltage drop display circuit of the present invention divides the voltage of a DC power supply by resistors and applies the divided voltage to the base terminals of transistors, and connects the emitter terminals of the transistors 1 to 1 to the emitter terminals of the DC power supply through resistors. The cathode side of the voltage regulator diode is connected to the emitter terminal of the transistor, the anode side of the voltage regulator diode is connected to the negative electrode side of the DC power source 1rj, and the collector terminal of the transistor and the DC power source are connected to the positive electrode side. A light emitting diode is interposed between the negative electrode side and the negative electrode side.

Function: According to this configuration, the potential of the emitter terminal is set to a constant voltage by utilizing the fact that it becomes conductive (ON state) when the potential of the base terminal of the PNPN upper type transistor becomes approximately 0.6 V lower than the potential of the emitter terminal. If it is fixed with a diode and the potential of the base terminal changes depending on the power supply voltage, when the voltage of the DC power supply decreases, the transistor turns on and the light emitting diode lights up.
