【発明の詳細な説明】 本願発明は次に述べる問題点の解決を目的とする。
(産業上の利用分野) この発明はビニール等の熱可塑
性樹脂で形成されたシート材の縁部相互を接合する装置
に関するものである。
(従来の技術) 一対のローラ型電極間に2枚のシート
材の重合部を挟んでそこを高周波によって溶着する場合
、1上記電極の幅よりも重合部の幅を大きくして溶着が
行なわれている為、各シート材の端縁に未溶着の部分が
残って仕上りがきたないという問題点があった。
(発明が解決しようとする問題点) この発明は上記従
来の問題点を除き、シート材相互の重合部をその端縁ま
で綺麗に溶着することができ、その上シート材の弱体化
を招くことなく両シート材を完全溶着できるようにした
シート材の接合装置を提供しようとするものである。
本願発明の構成は次の通りである。
(問題点を解決する為の手段) 本願発明は前記請求の
範囲記載の通りの手段を講じたものであってその作用は
次の通りである。
(作用)  2枚のシート材の縁部相互の重合部はその
幅方向中間部が予熱される0次に上記重合部が一対のロ
ーラ型電極の間に差し通されると、その重合部は上記一
対のローラ型電極の間に印加されている高周波により加
熱されて溶着される。この場合、上記両電極の挟着面の
幅は重合部と同等もしくはそれ以上である為、重合部に
おける各シート材の縁部はその端縁まで相手側のシート
材に溶着される。父上記の場合、重合部における幅方向
中間部のシート材は予熱されている為、その中間部には
縁部に比べて多量の高周波が入る。その結果幅方向中間
部のシート材は相互に完全溶着される一方、幅方向縁部
のシート材は中間部よりも溶融の程度が低い状態で溶着
される。
(実施例) 以下本願の実施例を示す図面について説明
する。1は回動軸で、図示外の機枠に回動自在に支承さ
れている。2はローラ型電極を示す。
これにおいて、3は基枠で、絶縁材を用いて円板状に形
成されており、カラー4を用いて軸1に着脱自在に取付
けである。5.5は側板で、導電材(金属板)を用いて
形成され、止付ねじ棒6により基枠3を挟着する状態で
基枠に対する止付けが行われている。次に8は基枠3の
外周に配設した環状の保持枠で、半径方向に変形できる
よう弾力性を有する絶縁材料例えばシリコンゴムを用い
て形成しである。またこれは相互に分割可能な三つの部
材8a、8b、8cから成る。10.10は基枠3の外
周側に周設した環状でしかも屈曲自在の導電部材で、銅
あるいはリン青銅の薄板を上記外周に巻回させて構成さ
れている。尚各導電部材10゜lOの縁部は夫々側板に
接触している。11.11・・・は多数の電極片で、夫
々導電材で形成されており、夫々縁部11a、llaを
図示される如く円弧状に形成して保持枠8に対する装着
が行われている。
これらの電極片11.11・・・の真直ぐな中間部分に
よって電極2における外周面の挟着面2aが構成されて
いる。向上記各電極片11の縁部11aは側板5の周縁
部に形成された引止部5aによって外周方向への外れ出
しが防止されている0次に12は上記機枠に取付けた支
持枠、13は支持枠12に取付けた案内レール、14は
案内レール13に装架したケース体で、矢印方向への移
動を可能にしである。
15はケース体15の下部側に設けた昇降杆で、通常の
ミシンに於て周知の如く図示外のレバーによる矢印方向
への昇降動作を可能にしである。16は昇降杆15の下
端に取付けた保持枠、17は保持枠16に回動自在に取
付けたローラ型電極、17aはその外周に備えた挟着面
を夫々示す。
次に20.21は各々の縁部が接合されるシート材で、
22はそれらの縁部の重合部を示す、上記シート材20
、21は重合部22が第1図及び第3図に矢印で示され
る方向に移動するよう図示外の周知の移送装置によって
移送されるようになっている。次に23は予熱手段とし
て例示する温風吹出用のノズルで、その元部は図示外の
温風供給装置に接続され、先端部23aは第1図に示さ
れる如く上記重合部の移送方向に対してローラ型電極2
,17よりも前段側の位置において重合部22における
各シート材20a。
21aの間に位置させである。又この先端部23aには
、重合部22の幅方向中間部における両シート材相互の
間に温風を吹出すようにした吹出口24が備わっている
次に上記移送方向に対して上記ローラ型電極2゜17よ
りも後段側の位置に配設した押圧冷却手段について説明
する。26は機枠に回動自在に装着した下部冷却ローラ
、27はケース体14に対して矢印方向の傾動を自在に
枢着したレバー、28はレバー27に対して矢印方向へ
の移動を可能に取付けた支持杆、29は支持杆28の下
端に回動自在に取付けた上部冷却ローラで、溶着された
シート材の重合部22を下部ローラ26に圧着させるよ
うにしである。30はレバー27に対して矢印方向の移
動を可能に取付けたおもりで、ローラ29の下部ローラ
26に対する押圧力を調整できるようになっている。
上記構成の接合装置を用いて2枚のシート材の縁部を相
互に接合する場合には、図示される如く2枚のシート材
20.21の縁部相互を重ね継手状に重合させ、その重
合部22を上記一対のローラ型電極2□17の挟着面2
a、17aの間に差し通す。又図示外の周知の高周波印
加手段から上記一対のローラ型電極2.I7における挟
着面2a、17aHにシート材溶着用の高周波電力を供
給する。その供給は周知の如く行われるが、−例を示せ
ば、ローラ型電極2にあっては側板5に接触させる図示
外の導電シューから側板5を通して電極片11(挟着面
2a)に高周波を印加する。この場合上記シート材と接
した箇所の電極片11ば電極2に対する電極17の押付
力によって軸Iの側にわずかに変位させられる。この為
上記の箇所の電極片11はその縁部が導電部材10に弾
力的に押し付けられ、その導電部材10を介して側板5
と導通する。従って、シー l−材と接触する電極片1
1への高周波の印加は安定に行なわれる。一方ローラ型
電極17にあっては、昇降杆15から保持枠16を介し
て挟着面17aに高周波を印加する。向上記の場合ロー
ラ型電極2.17は、夫々の挟着面2a、17aが上記
重合部22の幅よりも広幅にしであるから、重合部22
の全幅が挟着面2a、17aの間に挿通される。更にま
たノズル23における吹出口24からは、重合部22(
例えば24mm幅)の幅方向中間部22a (例えば1
0w幅)における両シート材相互の対向面20a’、2
1a’ を予熱する為の温風(例えばシート材が塩化ビ
ニル製の場合は数10〜100℃程度であるが、その温
度はシート材の材質に応じて決めるのがよい)を吹き出
させる。
上記のような状態でシート材20.21を移送させると
、シート材の重合部22においてはまず吹出口24から
吹出される温風により重合部の幅方向中間部22aにお
ける両シート材相互の対向面20a’、21a″が暖め
られる。次にその重合部22はローラ型電極2.17の
挟着面2a、17aの間に移動する。
ここにおいては挟着面2a、178間に印加されている
高周波により、重合部におけるシート材20a。
21aが夫々溶融され相互比一体に溶着される。この場
合、上記幅方向中間部22aにおける両シート材相互の
対向面20g’、21a’  は上記のように加温され
てそこでの填失角tanδが縁部に比べて大きくなって
いる為、重合部22の全幅に一様に高周波が印加されて
も上記幅方向中間部22aにおける両シート材に投入さ
れる高周波は縁部に比べてより多くなる。その結果上記
中間部におけるシート材は縁部に比べてその溶融の程度
が大きく、その結果幅方向中間部22aにおける両シー
ト材の溶着状態は完全なものとなる。一方両縁部におい
ては上記中間部はどは溶融が進まない為、縁部における
両シート材相互の溶着の度合は上記中間部に比べて低下
した状態となる。尚挟着面2a、17a間に印加する高
周波電力は上記重合部22における縁部での両シート材
の溶着が不完全とならぬ程度で小さく設定するのが好ま
しい。上記のようにローラ型電極2,17の間で溶着さ
れたシート材20.21の重合部22は、次に上下の押
圧冷却用ローラ29.26の間に挟着され、重合部22
における両シート材20a、21aがしっかりと溶着し
た状態でそこが冷却され、両シート材2Qa、21aの
溶着状態が固定(はがれの防止)される、上記のような
操作を2枚のシート材20.21を連続的に移送させな
がら行うことにより、その重合部22を連続的に溶着し
て接合していくことができろ。
上記のようにして溶着されたシート材20.21にあっ
ては、上記中間部22aが完全溶着されている為両シー
ト材20.21の接合状態は完全であり、しかも重合部
22における縁部は前述の如く溶融の程度が低くてシー
ト材の変質が少なくなっている為、各シート材における
溶接2番20b、 21b  (他方のシート材におけ
る端縁と重合する部分)の弱体化はなく、その溶接2番
においてもシート材固有の強度が示される状態となって
いる。
面上記予熱手段としては加熱用の赤外線ランプを用い、
それを上記吹出口24の位置に配設してそのランプによ
り上記中間部22aにおける各シート材の対向面20 
a ’、21 a ’ を加熱してもよい。
(発明の効果) 以上のように本発明にあっては、2枚
のシート材20.21の縁部を相互に接合するに当って
は、一対のローラ型電極2,17の挟着面2a。
!?a相互間に高周波を印加すると共に、上記両シート
材20.21の縁部を相互に重合させてその重合部22
を上記一対のローラ型電極2,17の挟着面相瓦間に連
続的に挿通させることにより、その挿通されている部分
を上記高周波により次々と加熱し溶着させて、上記両シ
ート材の縁部相互を連続的に接合することのできる特長
がある。
しかも上記接合の場合、シート材20.21相互の重合
部22の全幅を重合部と同等もしくはそれよりも広幅の
ローラ型電i2,17の挟着面2a、17aの間に通す
から、いずれのシート材20.21の縁部も夫々の端縁
まで相手側のシート材に溶着でき非常に綺麗な仕上りが
得られる効果がある。
しかも上記の場合、重合部22の全幅を挟着面の間に通
してその全幅に高周波を印加して全幅を溶着するもので
も、重合部22の中間部22aを予熱しそこの温度を縁
部に比べて上げておいて高周波を印加するから、中間部
には縁部に比べ高周波が入り易くなった状態で高周波溶
着できる特長がある。
このことは、中間部は両シート材を充分に高温化し溶融
させて完全溶着でき、シート材相互の接着の強度を高く
できると同時に、縁部は高周波による高温化の程度を低
下させて溶着の度合を低下させることができ、溶接2番
の弱体化を防止できる効果がある。

Claims (1)

    【特許請求の範囲】
  1. 2枚のシート材の縁部相互を重ね継手状に重合させた重
    合部が移送される移送経路に沿った位置には、夫々周囲
    に挟着面を有しかつ夫々回動自在の一対のローラ型電極
    を、各々の挟着面の間に上記重合部を挟着しうるよう配
    設し、更に上記一対のローラ型電極には、各々の挟着面
    の間にシート材加熱用の高周波を印加させる為の高周波
    印加手段を付設して、上記挟着面の間に挿通される重合
    部を上記高周波により加熱し溶着するようにしてあるシ
    ート材の接合装置において、上記各ローラ型電極におけ
    る挟着面の幅は上記重合部の幅と同等もしくはそれより
    広幅に定め、一方、上記移送方向に対して上記ローラ型
    電極よりも前段側の位置には、重合部の幅方向中間部に
    おける両シート材を予熱する為の予熱手段を配設したこ
    とを特徴とするシート材の接合装置。
