Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a sliding member having high mechanical strength, lightweightness and excellent sliding characteristic by plating metal to part or the whole of a molding manufactured of a composite carbon metallic material and soldering the plated body and metallic molding. CONSTITUTION:A prescribed shape is cut out of the composite carbon metallic material consisting of silicon carbide, carbon and aluminum or aluminum alloy or carbon and copper or copper alloy, etc. in the manufacture of a vane for an inverter rotary air conditioner. Part or the entire surface thereof is subjected to metal plating such as chrome plating or nickel plating. On the other hand, solder is stuck to one surface of the metallic molding having the prescribed shape and a flux is coated on the joint surface of the above-mentioned plated body. The plated body is superposed on the solder surface and both surfaces are heated, pressurized, then cooled. The composite vane member having the high mechanical strength, lightweightness and excellent sliding characteristic is thus obtd. at a low cost.
