Abstract

PURPOSE:To make the washing of the titled recorder possible by easily and securely removing the stickings of ink or the like, by a method wherein after raising the degree of negative pressure in a cap, washing liquid is induced into the cap by connecting the inside of the cap to the tank of washing liquid. CONSTITUTION:The recovery means (6) of pump suction type is provided at the home position HP of a carriage 4 and driven forward or backward in the arrow A direction to recording head 5. The cap 7 closing the ink discharge port of the recording head and the negative pressure suction means 8 sucking the air in the cap via a sucking tube 9 are provided. After raising the degree of negative pressure in the cap 7 by forcedly continuing the negative pressure sucking operation, a switching valve 12 is operated and the inside of the cap is connected to the tank 10 of washing liquid. Then, the washing liquid is induced into the cap and substituted for the air. Thereby, the solid fixed to the ink discharge port portion is dissolved and washed by this washing liquid. Then, the stabilization of the quality of printing can be secured.

However, in conventional inkjet recording devices of this type, even if capping and ink recovery operations are performed, ink and dust adhering to the ink ejection ports become solid over time, resulting in the above-mentioned problem. It is difficult to remove these solid substances by ink operation alone, and stable printing quality may not be ensured in some cases.

The present invention provides an operating method for an inkjet recording device that recovers ink by sealing an ink ejection port with a cap and performing a negative pressure suction operation to suck air inside the cap. After continuously performing suction operations to increase the degree of negative pressure inside the cap,
The above object is achieved by communicating the inside of the cap with a cleaning liquid tank and introducing the cleaning liquid into the cap.
