Abstract

PURPOSE:To make possible to obtain a satisfactory finished surface with a high degree of efficiency, by forming grooves in each of bristles in a number of 3 to 5 in the cross-section thereof so that it has a peculiar cross-sectioned shape having an averaged diameter of 0.4 to 3.0mm. CONSTITUTION:Grooves C is formed in each bristle having, as a base member,a synthetic resin monofilament containing abrasive particles B, in a number of 3 to 5 in the cross-section thereof. Further the bristle is not hollow but solid, and has an averaged diameter of 0.4 to 3.0mm. The thus formed bristle has a knife edge-like tip end and therefore, exhibits an extremely excellent grinding and polishing effect, thereby it is possible to obtain a satisfactory finished surface with a high degree of efficiency.

Detailed Description of the Invention (Industrial Application Field) The present invention is capable of obtaining a C1-quality finished surface with high efficiency in grinding and polishing metal surfaces, etc., and has durability that can withstand long-term use. This invention relates to a bristle material for industrial brushes having a monofilament containing abrasive particles as a base.

(Prior art) It has been well known in the field of industrial brushes to use monofilaments obtained by melt-spinning synthetic resin containing abrasive particles. It is used as an ordinary brush, or by hanging the monofilament in the form of a blind and passing the object to be polished under it.

However, brushes in which the above-mentioned monofilament containing abrasive particles is directly grafted onto the base material have poor abrasiveness because the monofilament itself is thin and lacks stiffness as a brush.
It is difficult to efficiently obtain a good polished surface. On the other hand, if an attempt is made to increase the polishing performance by increasing the thickness of the monofilament, the polishing performance will be improved, but the strength of the brush itself will decrease, making it more likely to break, making it impossible to withstand long-term use.

Bristles for brushes aimed at solving such problems and improving polishing properties include, for example, bristle materials for brushes with a rectangular cross section (Japanese Utility Model Publication No. 54-35920 and Japanese Utility Model Publication No. 56-49728). @Publication) can be mentioned, but
Although this brush bristle material has improved abrasiveness, it is easily broken and has poor durability. Also, for example, several thin abrasive particle-containing monofilaments are twisted or bundled and the surface is coated with multifilament etc.

(Problems to be Solved by the Present Invention) Therefore, the present inventors developed an abrasive that can obtain a good ground and polished surface with high efficiency and is durable enough to withstand long-term use. As a result of intensive studies aimed at obtaining a bristle material for industrial brushes based on monofilament containing particles, we found that it is industrially easy, for example, to completely fuse multiple monofilaments together in the melt spinning process of monofilament containing abrasive particles. The inventors have now discovered that a bristle material for industrial brushes that meets the above objectives can be obtained by imparting a modified cross-sectional structure to the monofilament using a simple means, and have thus arrived at the present invention.

The abrasive particles used in the present invention include alumina-based abrasives such as coke powder, bauxite, and alumina powder, silicon carbide-based abrasives such as white stone and mineral powder, and natural abrasives such as diamond, emery, and garnet. Examples include physical abrasives, carbide abrasives, zirconia abrasives, and glass abrasives, and two or more of these can be used in combination.The particle diameter of these abrasive particles is determined according to JIS R6001 (1956).
) Particle size specified by #30 to 1500, especially #60
A range of 500 to 500 is preferable, and if the particle size is larger than #30, the spinnability and toughness of the monofilament will deteriorate, and if the particle size is larger than #1
If it is smaller than 500, the polishing properties may deteriorate. The blending ratio of these abrasive particles is 3~
70% by weight, particularly 10 to 50% by weight, is preferred;
If it is less than 7% by weight, the desired polishing effect cannot be obtained;
If it exceeds ffl amount%, the toughness and melt spinnability of the monofilament will decrease, which is not preferable. It goes without saying that when the polishing effect is not particularly intended, a strong and durable brush can be obtained by using the embodiment of the present invention without incorporating abrasive particles.

In particular, according to method (1) above, it is possible to easily and efficiently obtain a strong brush bristle material with a stable center of gravity. To explain this method in more detail, the number of discharge holes in a spinneret having a desired number of holes is set to 3 to 5, the interval between the discharge holes is set to 0.2 to 0.7 mm, and the spinneret is placed in a cooling bath. Adjusting the position of the first cooling guide to bring three to five abrasive particle-containing monofilaments that have been spun from the spinneret and are still in a molten state before being cooled into contact with each other,
It is important to join the seven filaments together without leaving a hollow part in the center, and if the distance between the discharge holes of the spinneret exceeds 0.7 mm, complete fusion between the single filaments will be insufficient. Q: If it is less than 2 mm, the wear of the cap will be severe and the cross section will tend to become circular, which is not preferable.

That is, the brush bristle material of the present invention has grooves C formed in its cross section and is solid, so it is strong, and when used as a brush, the tips of the bristles become knife-like, resulting in extremely excellent grinding, This produces a polishing effect. However, if the number of grooves C is less than 2, the brush will lack toughness and work efficiency will be poor, and if it is more than 6, the cross section of the monofilament will become close to circular, which will not only make the polished surface rough but also reduce the stiffness of the brush, so it is preferable. do not have. Also, the average diameter is 0.4
If it is less than 3.0 mm, the grinding and polishing properties will deteriorate, and if it exceeds 3.0 mm, it will be easy to break, which is not preferable.

The bristle material for industrial brushes of the present invention having the above-mentioned structure can be cut to a required length and bundled or implanted on a brush base to form a rotating or reciprocating brush, or it can be made into a slat-like shape. It is used for practical purposes such as letting the polishing material hang down and passing the object to be polished under it.

(Function) When the bristle material for an industrial brush of the present invention is used for practical use in polishing the surface of an object to be polished, the bristle material has grooves C formed in the cross section of the bristle material and is solid as described above. The tips of the bristles become knife-like and exhibit extremely excellent grinding and polishing effects, so not only can a good finished surface be achieved with high efficiency, but the bristles are strong and do not easily break, so they can be used for long periods of time. Excellent durability can be expected to withstand use.
