(Prior art) It has been well known in the field of industrial brushes to use monofilaments obtained by melt-spinning synthetic resin containing abrasive particles. It is used as an ordinary brush, or by hanging the monofilament in the form of a blind and passing the object to be polished under it.

However, in brushes in which the above-mentioned monofilament containing abrasive particles is directly grafted onto a base material, the monofilament itself is thin and lacks stiffness as a brush, resulting in poor abrasiveness and difficulty in efficiently obtaining a finely polished surface. . On the other hand, if an attempt is made to increase the stiffness of the brush by increasing the thickness of the monofilament, the polishing performance will be improved, but the polishing surface will become rough and the acquisition of a finely finished surface will be hindered.

To solve this problem and obtain a finely polished surface, brush bristle materials are made by twisting or bundling several thin monofilaments containing abrasive particles, and then covering the surface with multifilament, etc. (Utility Model Publication No. 49-38637 and Utility Model Publication No. 56-21294)
However, these methods are not only economically undesirable as they increase manufacturing costs due to the addition of processing steps such as twisting and coating. There is still room for improvement in work efficiency.

(Problems to be Solved by the Present Invention) Therefore, the present inventors aimed to obtain a bristle material for industrial brushes based on monofilament containing abrasive particles, which can obtain a fine and beautiful polished surface with high efficiency. As a result of intensive research aimed at this purpose, we have found that a bristle material for brushes that meets the above objectives can be created by an industrially easy and simple means of surface-fusing multiple monofilaments together in the melt-spinning process of monofilaments containing abrasive particles. The present invention has been achieved based on the discovery that the present invention can be obtained.

The abrasive particles used in the present invention include alumina-based abrasives such as coke powder, bauxite, and alumina powder, silicon carbide-based abrasives such as white silica and sawdust, and natural material-based abrasives such as diamond, emery, and garnet. Examples include abrasives, carbide-based abrasives, zirconia-based abrasives, and glass-based abrasives, and two or more of these can be used in combination. The particle diameter of these abrasive particles is JIS R6001 (1956)
Particle size defined by R30~1500, especially #60~
A range of 500 is preferable, and if the particle size is larger than R30, the spinnability and toughness of the monofilament will deteriorate, and if the particle size is larger than R15,
If it is smaller than 00, the polishing properties may deteriorate. The blending amount of these abrasive particles is 3 to 7
0% by weight, especially 10 to 50% by weight is preferable; if it is less than 3% by weight, the desired polishing effect cannot be obtained, and if it exceeds 70% by weight, it is not preferable because the toughness and melt spinnability of the monofilament decreases. . It goes without saying that when the polishing effect is not particularly intended, a strong and durable brush can be obtained by the embodiment of the present invention even without containing abrasive particles.

The brush bristle material of the present invention can be prepared by adding abrasive particles to the above synthetic resin, melt-mixing the mixture and -H pelletizing it, or directly applying it to a melt extrusion spinning machine without pelletizing it, and then applying it to a spinneret. After spinning out a plurality of monofilaments from a monofilament, a plurality of abrasive particle-containing monofilaments are surface-fused together while the surface of the monofilament is still in a molten state before cooling.

- As shown in Figure 2, in the brush bristle material of the present invention, the three monofilament single yarns containing abrasive particles are interposed between each other only through the synthetic resin layer on the surface, preferably with a hollow hole in the center. They are fused with part C remaining, and this state is called surface fusion.

As described above, the brush bristle material of the present invention, which is made of abrasive particle-containing monofilament single yarns that are surface-fused to each other, has a spinneret with a desired number of holes, and the distance between the ejection holes is 0.3 to Q.
, 7 mm, and by adjusting the position of the first cooling guide installed in the cooling bath, a plurality of abrasive particle-containing monofilaments are spun from the spinneret and whose surfaces are still in a molten state before being cooled. By bringing it into contact,
It can be manufactured efficiently. However, if the interval between the discharge holes of the spinneret exceeds 0.7 mm, surface fusion between the single yarns will be insufficient, and if it is less than 0.2 mm, complete fusion will tend to occur, which is not preferable.

The brush bristle material of the present invention having the above-mentioned structure can be cut to a required length and bundled or implanted on a brush base to make a rotating or reciprocating brush, or it can be made into a sash-like bristle. It is used for practical purposes such as hanging down and passing the object to be polished under it.

(Function) When the brush bristle material of the present invention is put to practical use, the fused portion at the tip of the bristle material that contacts the surface of the object to be polished is peeled off in advance and divided into single threads. When polishing the surface of the object to be polished in this condition, the roots of the bristles are hard and stiff because they are fused to the surface, while the ends of the bristles are divided into single threads, so the polishing surface It is possible to precisely polish small gaps, etc., and efficiently obtain a fine and beautiful polished surface.
