In conventional arrangements, the two lateral load members are generally housed within a sleeve at the upper end of the fixation device, as previously discussed. In these older configurations, the interconnection between the load member and the securing device was invariably made with a screw assembly. There was therefore always the risk that the user of the carrier would forget to tighten the screws securing the securing device to the load member.

In the embodiment of FIG. 1, there is a U-shaped member 17 on the outside of the end of the load member 6. The U-shaped member 17 is designed as a push member that can engage with the upper side of the load member 6 with its bottom upwards. This U-shaped member 17 has two side flanges 19 that engage on the outside with the two legs 14 of the fixing device 7. The side flanges 19 of the U-shaped member 17 are connected to transverse rods 20, preferably of riveted construction. This rivet 20 extends linearly through an elongation 21 formed in the two legs 14 of the fixing device 7 and is a cam member having a cam surface 23 that abuts the underside of the support member 16 between the two legs 14. 2
2. Cam member 22 pivots about rivet 20 and, as it rotates clockwise from the position of FIG. 1A, exerts a downward force on the rivet as cam surface 23 moves along the underside of support member 16. This downward force and the downward movement of the rivet 20 causes the U-shaped member 17 to move downward and press against the load member 6. Therefore, the cargo member 6
is sandwiched between the pressing member 18 and the supporting member 16, and the fixing device 7
The tightening is fixed inside.

A stop 24 is provided at the lower end of the cam member 22 (22A, B).
When the cam member rotates by a predetermined angle, it comes into contact with the end of the leg 14 and limits the clockwise rotation of the cam member 22.゛As shown, the nut 13 is fixed to the cam member 22. Therefore, when tightening the screw 12,
The cam member 22 rotates in the above-mentioned clockwise direction to tightly hold the load member 6 between the pressing member 18 and the support member 16. When the screw 12 is tightened, the already described hook part 11 also rotates below the corner area 4 to tighten and hold the fixing device M7 on the side edge of the vehicle roof. For this purpose, there is an engaging portion 25 at the upper end of the second engaging member that protrudes toward the side surface 26 of the cam member 22. When the stop 24 abuts the leg 14, the cam member 22 is correctly positioned relative to the fixation device, and therefore the side surface 26 of the cam member 22 is also correctly positioned within the fixation device R7 to ensure a sufficient tightening effect. but! 82 is obtained between the engagement member 10 and the foot 8.

In the embodiment of the arrangement shown, when the screw 12 is first tightened, the hook part 11 is first loosened against the corner area 4 and the cam member 22 is rotated clockwise until it is abutted and the rotation is limited by the stop 24. rotate in the direction. In this position, the load member 6 is safely clamped into the fastening device 7, but
Up to this position, the second engagement member 10 has no tightening effect. Therefore, even if the engagement between the foot 8 and the roof 1 is incomplete, the second engagement member 10 will cause the entire loading platform to Due to the lateral force of
This is because the loading platform is symmetrical, and the force generated by one anchoring device 7 is in the opposite direction to the force generated by the other anchoring device N7, and this force is applied to the load member within the two anchoring devices. This is because they are mutually transmitted and canceled through and their associated members.
