Abstract

PURPOSE:To alleviate noise at printing time by providing a platen having a plurality of fine holes and communicating holes, thus intaking air from the open end of the communicating holes enabling contact between a sheet to be printed and the platen. CONSTITUTION:Many holes 6 of small diameter are formed in the surface of a platen so that the fine holes communicate by communicating holes 7 in the platen. The open ends 5 of the holes 7 on the sides of the platen communicate with a compressor 2 so that a plurality of specific holes of the open ends communicate through an air guide 3 with the compressor 2. The guide 3 is moved and set to intake air only at the holes 6 and the open end 5 of the platen communicating with the holes 6 to communicate with the compressor 2. Thus, the air can be intaken from the holes 6 at the printing unit and its periphery to almost completely contact the sheet with the surface of the platen.

1. In conventional impact printers, the printing paper and the surface of the platen are brought into partial contact with each other by a pressure roller and a veil roller, and the printing paper is conveyed by rotation of the platen. . However, between the pressure roller and the bail roller, the printing paper is suspended from the platen surface, and therefore vibrations and noise are generated upon impact of printing.

In recent years, the problem of noise in impact printers has tended to be more and more important, and the relationship between the adhesion of printing paper to the platen and the noise generated during printing is gradually being clarified. In other words, as mentioned above, if printing is performed with the paper floating above the platen surface, the vibration of the paper will increase the printing sound, and the printing sound will be reflected by the paper, resulting in high noise from the printer. There are examples of this.

Therefore, the present invention has been made to solve these conventional problems, and its purpose is to improve the adhesion between the printing paper and the platen surface.
An object of the present invention is to provide a printer device that reduces noise during printing by an impact printer.

Structure of the Invention According to the present invention, there is provided a platen having a plurality of minute openings provided on the surface of the platen in contact with printing paper, and a communication hole that communicates these openings with each other inside the platen and has an open end on the side surface of the platen. There is obtained a printer device characterized in that air is sucked through the open end of the communication hole to enable close contact between the printing paper and the platen.

That is, openings 6 having a diameter extremely smaller than the tip diameter of the print wire of the print head 8 are provided on the platen surface so as to form, for example, a plurality of rows parallel to the platen rotation center axis. The micro openings belonging to each row communicate with each other through communication holes 7 inside the platen. It is in an open state (indicated by 5 in FIG. 1).

The air guide 3 has a structure that allows it to move freely in the rotational direction of the platen 1, so that it is possible to freely select the open end that should communicate with the compressor 2, which is the specific plurality of open ends.

Therefore, as shown in FIG. 1, there are openings 6 on the platen surface in the area parallel to the platen rotation center axis where printing is performed by the movement of the print head 8, and areas before and after the platen surface openings 6, and also on the side surfaces of the platen that communicate with these openings. It becomes possible to establish communication with the compressor 2 by moving and setting the air guide 3 so that air is sucked only at the open end 5.

By doing so, air can be sucked in through the openings 6 in the printing area and its surrounding area, and the adhesion of the printing paper to the platen surface is almost perfect. In this case, the suction pressure of the compressor is, of course, set to a level that does not cause any problem in paper feeding, and the compressor suction pressure is set depending on the diameter of the opening 6 and the like.
