Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a lateral stretching machine among noises of which generated through a roller chain the noise on the inlet side of a film has been controlled as low as possible, by making a driven wheel making the roller chain run in cooperation with a driving sprocket into a disc. CONSTITUTION:A pair of endless roller chains runs respectively on an advancing path 11 and return path 12 and a film is held by a clip provided within the advancing path. Then lateral stretching is applied to the film by the roller chains by widening a distance between the pair during running. Then the roller chain is guided by a driven wheel 13 at an inlet side, tension control is performed along with a change of direction and the same is driven by a driving sprocket 14 at an outlet side. Although the driving sprocket 14 has a cog, the driven wheel 13 is a disc not having the cog. As the driven wheel cooperating with the driving sprocket is made into the disc by eliminating the cog like this, a noise at the inlet side of the film wherein the driven wheel has been arranged is reduced drastically.
