In addition, the paint used for undercoating, soundproofing, and rustproofing automobile bodies contains fibers and is highly viscous, so the nozzle can become clogged, so the nozzle must be removed and cleaned each time or periodically. was. Therefore,
Measurement of the pattern width and cleaning of the nozzle had a negative impact on improving work efficiency, and there were cases where products with defective coating quality were produced.

As shown in FIG. 2, this pattern measuring device 5 has phototubes 6 installed at predetermined intervals. Although not shown, the phototube 6 may be installed in a movable structure so that the gap between the phototubes 6 and 6 can be adjusted.

As shown in Fig. 2, the pattern width 7 resulting from this trial injection is determined by the phototube 6 to determine whether it is the same as the set width or not. If it is smaller than the set width, it is an abnormal pattern width and the paint is not being ejected normally. When it detects that the cleaning liquid is in a clogged state, it is returned to the cleaning liquid tank 4 and an abnormality signal is sent to notify the operator, so that sufficient cleaning can be carried out.
Incidentally, when it is determined that the pattern width is normal, the arm 2 moves to a position corresponding to the object to be coated and starts the painting operation.

In addition to cleaning the pattern each time it is returned to its original position, the pattern width is also measured before starting the painting process, which prevents paint from clogging and allows painting only with the normal pattern width, resulting in consistent quality painting. It has the advantage of being fully automatic.
