本発明は、例えばフロッピーディスク装置などに使用さ
れる磁気ヘッドおよびその製造方法に係り、特に記録再
生コア(以下、録再コアという)へのバックコアの取付

り鏡面研磨加工(第8図参照)を施して、切断時等の加
工時に生ずる磁性体の加工変質層を除去する作業を行な
っていた。次に、鏡面研磨加工した側面10にバックコ
ア2を接着剤あるいはバネ等により固定する。このよう
にして、録再コアlとバンクコア2とにより録音再生用
の閉磁気回路が形成される。そして、録再コア1の片方
に記録再生コイル7を巻装する。また、録再コア1の両
脇の録音再生ギャップ5の近傍には、消去ギャップ6を
□形成した消去コア3が配置される。この消去コア3の
両端には、録再コア1の片方を囲繞するようにU字型の
消去ヨークコア4を接着剤等により固着する。消去ヨー
クコア4には、消去コイル8を巻装する。そして、録再
コア1の前端面と同一面上に非磁性体の前面板9が位置
するように録再コア1の前部両側面に接着剤等により前
面板9を接着し、磁気記録媒体が磁気へラド上を安定に
走行するようにする。こうして、磁気ヘッドが得られる

動面と反対側の後端面に取り付けたので、バックコアは
消去コアや消去ヨークコアから遠ざけることができる結
果、従来の方式で存在した消去磁界をバックコアがひろ
うことによる記録再生波形の対称性の悪化という現象を
軽減あるいは無くすることができ、信軌性の高い磁気ヘ

、鏡面研磨加工を録再コアの後端面で行なうので、従来
の製造法での録再コア側面の鏡面研磨加工の取りしろを
設ける必要がない。したがって、記録再生コアパー1本
当りの録再コアの取り数を従来の製造法に比べ増やすこ
とができるため、この点からも安価な磁気ヘッドが得ら
